A few days after forcing Kurs and his group into submission, news arrived from Liana regarding the investigation into the thief’s whereabouts. As Ye Hai had anticipated, the culprit had vanished without a trace, leaving no clues to be found. Yet, despite this, Ye Hai remained in high spirits.

With the system’s assistance, the first second-generation parasite infused with the ARMY-3 virus had been successfully cultivated in a remarkably short time. Now, Ye Hai’s foremost plan was to promote the second-generation parasites among the entire population. However, their appearance was hardly appealing, and overcoming the resistance among his followers would undoubtedly require some effort.

That evening, Ye Hai gathered all his personnel together. The entire camp was already equipped with lighting and prepared grounds. After activating biological energy, the camp was not only brightly illuminated but also warm despite the harsh winter cold. Even Zera, dressed in the light attire of a high priest, no longer shivered from the chill.

There were several reasons for assembling everyone. Firstly, to bid farewell to Zera. Since Kurs had been subdued and the technology of the second-generation parasite had matured, Ye Hai now desired everything—humans and mutants alike. Thanks to ARMY-3’s presence, mutated creatures were nearly absent within a hundred miles of the Ironwood Forest black market; beyond that, only scattered low-level mutants remained, none of which caught Ye Hai’s interest.

Thus, the only subjects worthy of Ye Hai’s appetite were the humans of the Ironwood Forest black market. With over 80,000 inhabitants, including roughly 50,000 followers of the Shesha cult, the remaining 30,000 were Ye Hai’s current targets. The best candidate to achieve this mission was none other than Zera.

Ye Hai entrusted Zera with a singular task: if he could convert them to the Flying Spaghetti Monster faith, then recruit believers. If not, Zera would lose his title as high priest. As a forbidden figure in the shadows, he would make them understand the brutality of Zombie Planet. Capturing slaves was Zera’s specialty.

Today’s gathering was intended for the implantation ceremony. When Zera heard Ye Hai’s pledge to help him enhance his physiology to sixth-stage mutant strength and grant him immortality, he had been sleepless for days. The harsh environment of Zombie Planet meant that powerful high-stage mutants only thrived in areas saturated with intense energy and radiation, like the irradiated zones. With sixth-stage mutant strength, one could traverse the world freely, especially since parasites possessed resurrection capabilities.

Besides enhancing Zera’s abilities, the ceremony aimed to quell the survivors’ resistance. Hosting parasites inside one’s body required immense courage, but sufficient incentives naturally bred such bravery.

On the high platform, prepared well in advance by Ye Hai’s orders, a massive hexagram shimmered with flickering lights, dazzling and mesmerizing all who gazed upon it. Such a mystical array, never before seen in the Leviathan System, heightened the ceremony’s solemnity and mystery, making everyone sense that something extraordinary was about to unfold that night.

As the crowd gathered at the platform’s edge, the hexagram suddenly flared brilliantly, eliciting gasps from the onlookers. Then, the tendrils of Mr. Great Lung and Liana’s vines burst upward from the earth, spreading across the skies and nearly covering the entire camp.

Amid the survivors’ astonished cries, a few loud shouts pierced the air, silencing everyone.

“Flesh and blood agony, genetic ascension!”

“Flesh and blood agony, genetic ascension!”

Before the survivors could comprehend the situation, Ye Hai’s voice echoed from the platform.

“Welcome the Flying Spaghetti Monster faith, High Priest Zera!”

At his words, Zera suddenly appeared atop the tendrils of Mr. Great Lung, his body slick and shining—coated in the disgusting slime left after being swallowed by those tendrils. Zera, nearly vomiting from the ordeal a few days prior, swallowed back his retching to play along with Ye Hai’s grand performance.

As Zera was gently set upon the platform by the thick, dark tendrils, outside the camp, two “dragons” streaked across the sky, accompanied faintly by thunderous roars. This spectacle was fabricated by Ye Hai using the biochemical fortresses Sea Serpent and Sea Eel. Though many survivors had witnessed these mythical fortresses before, under Ye Hai’s dim lighting, they appeared even more awe-inspiring.

After the dragons vanished, dozens of high-level mutants thundered toward the camp’s gate, nearly sparking widespread panic. Yet, when these mutants saw Zera raise a hand, they all prostrated themselves in submission. Everyone was utterly stunned.

These massive mutants, at least seventh or eighth stage, had never been known to submit like humans. This unprecedented sight sent shivers down everyone’s spines. Kurs and his fellow missionaries were completely dumbfounded.

“By Shesha’s grace!”

“What are these creatures?”

“Has the Flying Spaghetti Monster truly descended upon Zombie Planet?”

“How could such terrifying high-level mutants possibly submit to humans?”

At that moment, the missionaries, led by Kurs, looked at Zera with transformed eyes. The miracles they witnessed were unlike anything seen in the Shesha cult. Kurs’s only lingering hope was that the sacred sites of the Shesha faith bestowed unparalleled power. Although the spectacle of the Flying Spaghetti Monster’s miracles was overwhelming, if it could not grant believers transcendent strength, the Shesha deity would still be far superior in the eyes of these fervent missionaries.

Then, with hands clasped and kneeling, Zera cried out loudly:

“Great Flying Spaghetti Deity… your devoted servant Zera humbly requests your blessing!”

After he repeated this three times, the hexagram suddenly burst with blinding light, forcing everyone to shield their eyes. When the radiance faded, all eyes turned toward the platform, where a NE-α parasite had materialized out of thin air.

Its grotesque appearance made Zera curse under his breath.

“Damn… you want to implant this thing inside me?”

“It’s so damn ugly!”

“I’d rather enter Ze Xi’s body than let this parasite into mine…”

But Ye Hai paid no heed to Zera’s objections. Approaching from behind, he gave a gentle push. Zera stumbled and fell to his knees before the parasite. Instantly, the NE-α’s tendrils reached out and began crawling onto him.

Zera tried to recoil, only to hear Ye Hai’s sinister voice:

“If you dare resist, I’ll have Mr. Great Lung turn you into a zombie dog!”

Zera shuddered violently, closed his eyes, and sincerely prayed to the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Under the paralysis induced by the NE-α parasite’s secretions, Zera felt nothing. Finally, he heard Ye Hai’s triumphant laugh:

“It’s done!”

Excited, Zera turned around, only to see Ye Hai holding a high-energy pistol pointed directly at his head. The scene instantly reminded Zera of the first time he met Ye Hai, when his own men had guns aimed at him—though back then, no shots were fired.

This time, however, Ye Hai pulled the trigger without hesitation, blasting Zera’s head into a bloody mess. The crowd gasped in unison, bewildered at why Ye Hai had killed the bald high priest. But after surviving on Zombie Planet, such scenes had become commonplace, so no panic arose.

Suddenly, someone shouted from the crowd:

“Look… that bald high priest!”

All eyes turned to Zera’s body. Within seconds, his shattered head regrew, fully restored. Still trembling, Zera was hoisted up by Ye Hai. Raising both hands like a victorious boxer, he challenged the crowd, loudly proclaiming:

“Thanks to the immortal gift granted by the Flying Spaghetti Monster…”

“All who sincerely join the faith and praise the true god…”

“Will receive the deity’s blessing, gaining immortality and the strength of a sixth-stage super-genetic warrior…”

After a brief silence, the crowd erupted in thunderous cheers.

“Oh my god!”

“What have I just witnessed?”

“A miracle… truly a miracle…”

“So that’s why we’ve been able to evade mutant hunts—it’s the Flying Spaghetti Monster’s will!”

“The Corpse Catcher Organization is the true god’s emissary on Zombie Planet!”

“I hereby declare myself the most devoted follower of the Flying Spaghetti Monster from this day forth…”

After Zera’s resurrection, the scene descended into joyous chaos. Many young survivors, led by Kurs and others, knelt before Zera. Though some educated elites harbored doubts about the miracle, the fervent atmosphere swept them up. After all, Zera’s resurrection had happened before their very eyes, utterly defying their understanding.

Moreover, as Zera displayed his newfound sixth-stage mutant power, everyone’s eyes gleamed with longing: immortality and strength—possessing these meant a complete escape from their precarious existence.

Ye Hai was immensely satisfied with the performance. These survivors had joined recently and were numerous, making it difficult to win their loyalty and trust. Harnessing religion could significantly shorten that process. Furthermore, once everyone was implanted with the NE-α parasite, breaking free from Ye Hai’s control would be impossible.

Ye Hai aimed to secure their complete submission, both mentally and physically, then bring the entire Ironwood Forest black market under his dominion. When that time came, he might even have the strength to confront the intelligent mutant tribes in battle.
