Connor felt a chill run down his spine as Ye Hai and his companions appeared right behind him without a sound.

However, being a seasoned and powerful warrior, his psychological resilience was exceptional.

Without a moment's hesitation, Connor unleashed the formidable strength of a tier-five gene warrior.

He threw a ferocious punch straight at Ye Hai's head.

Instead of dodging or blocking, Ye Hai watched with amused interest as Connor rained blows upon him with fists and kicks.

"Not bad, you actually possess the level of a tier-five mutant!"

"Your background must be quite extraordinary!"

"Why don't you just tell me yourself?"

"If I have to force it out of you, it might get rather brutal!"

Never had Connor expected that Ye Hai would take the full force of his storm-like onslaught...

and remain completely unfazed, as if nothing had happened.

Ye Hai even had the breath to spare for conversation.

A sudden sense of dread washed over Connor, and he tried to pull back and retreat.

Yet, the very instant that thought crossed his mind, a pair of massive arms suddenly sprouted from behind the strange man before him.

"Damn it!"

"Another monster!"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than the lightning-fast arms growing from Ye Hai's back shot out and grabbed Connor by the ankles.

A wave of excruciating agony instantly surged from Connor's ankles, draining every ounce of strength from his body in a flash.

When Ye Hai finally released him, Connor's ankles had been crushed into a bloody pulp.

Clearly, they were completely ruined.

Ye Hai retracted his rear arms, looked at Connor—who was still stubbornly conscious—and grinned.

"Given how many mechas you brought me as a gift, I was actually prepared to treat you well!"

"But it seems you aren't very keen on accepting my friendship."

"In that case, I'm sorry!"

"The information I need will naturally come out of your mouth shortly!"

With a gentle smile, Ye Hai raised a foot and snapped Connor's arms one by one.

In the end, the tough guy Connor failed to endure the ultimate limits of human pain and passed out cold.

While Ye Hai and the others were watching Joe and Big Mouth engage in a fierce battle with great interest, a bat arrived quietly, carrying Zero.

Zero dropped down casually beside them, grinning broadly, and shouted loudly toward Joe's direction:

"Hurry up and finish him off, Joe!"

"I've already flattened two hundred people..."

"You spent this much time on just two!"

"Are you even a man?"

"Care to come to my room tonight so I can teach you how to be a mighty man?"

Joe, who was trading heavy, bone-crunching blows with Big Mouth, stumbled and nearly fell upon hearing Zero's words.

Yet, it was precisely because of this stumble that one of his arms was sliced clean off.

Fortunately, the parasite's regenerative abilities were absurdly powerful.

In a matter of mere seconds, the arm had grown back entirely.

And so, the two sides resumed their back-and-forth exchange once again...

After watching for a few minutes, Zero began to yawn.

"These two guys are getting a bit boring!"

"Though Joe seems to be thoroughly enjoying himself."

Ye Hai smiled and spoke up:

"All two hundred mechas have been completely wiped out?"

"You didn't cause any massive damage to the mechas, did you?"

"If you break too many of them, you won't get a share of the upgrades this time..."

Zero shrugged and replied:

"I certainly wished I could tear those mechas apart into eight pieces."

"But I ended up chipping one of my claws just managing to rip the arm off a single mecha!"

"Though these things aren't exceptionally powerful in combat, their defensive capabilities have reached an absurd level."

Ye Hai smiled and shook his head, saying:

"I suspect the enemy is facing an energy crisis."

"That's why these mechas cannot unleash their maximum firepower!"

"Otherwise, they wouldn't have been so reluctant to use energy firearms and the shoulder-mounted heavy artillery..."

"And instead insisted on engaging you in close combat."

Hearing this, Zero recalled the recent skirmish and realized it was indeed just as Ye Hai had described.

The large-caliber energy cannons mounted on the backs of those mechas had been practically treated like ornamental decorations.

Even though Zero had spent a considerable amount of time single-handedly taking down two hundred mechas, the enemy forces had only fired a few dozen shots throughout the entire encounter!

Clearly, that style of combat was deeply flawed.

As they spoke, a massive swarm of mechas appeared on the horizon, flying toward Ye Hai and the others.

Upon closer inspection, every single mecha was weighed down by at least five vampires transformed into bats...

These poor little bats were flapping their wings with all their might, pushing themselves to the absolute limit as they hauled the heavy mechas through the air.

Witnessing this spectacle, Ye Hai sighed helplessly and remarked:

"As useful as these vampires are, exploiting them too harshly isn't a great idea either..."

"Heavy labor like this consumes a massive amount of spiritual energy within them!"

"Which in turn means these creatures can only linger in this world for a few hours!"

"Leanna, use your vines to bundle up these tin cans and stuff them into the moray eel's body!"

Pausing briefly, he turned to Lister and instructed:

"I'm leaving all two hundred of these mechas in your care..."

"Consult with Xavier and decide whether we should catalyze them using the G-virus or the T-virus!"

"Select a batch of mecha pilots; these will become the sharp blades in our hands!"

"Make sure this batch of mechas is thoroughly modified."

"For now, though, modifying a hundred of them will be enough!"

"My current virus experiments are nearing completion."

"We'll save the remaining hundred mechas and catalyze them with the new virus once my research is done..."

"I guarantee it will blow your minds."

"This time around, the Corpse Catcher's mecha won't need an upgrade just yet, right?"

Lister gave a slight nod without saying much more.

His primary objective for coming on this trip was to take delivery of this batch of mechas.

Lister's interest in biamechas was evidently far greater than watching Joe engage in that completely amateurish brawl.

Once Leanna had wrapped all two hundred mechas into giant dumplings and stuffed them into the biochemical fortress, Lister turned around and stepped back inside without a shred of hesitation.

Meanwhile, Big Mouth was consumed by shock and despair.

How much time had actually passed?

From the moment they launched their sneak attack on the Holy Crusaders, it hadn't even been fifteen minutes by any reasonable calculation.

Aside from himself, the entire team had been completely wiped out.

Recalling how high-spirited everyone had been upon first entering the Zombie Star, Big Mouth found it impossible to accept how such a formidable Mecha Knight Order could simply cease to exist like this.

Taking a deep breath, Big Mouth knew that he was now the last hope for his entire village.

The fellow in front of him was immensely strong...

Yet, under the assault of kinetic mecha operating at 80% power, that opponent had already shown signs of fatigue and fallen completely onto the defensive.

If he could manage to take this high-ranking enemy official hostage, perhaps he still had a chance to ransom back the Mecha Knight Order.

At the very least, he might be able to trade him for Captain Connor.

Just as Big Mouth launched a frantic assault, a massive moray eel suddenly burst out from the ground right beneath where the two were fighting.

It then spat a glob of "phlegm" straight at Joe!

The slimy projectile hurtled toward Joe's face, scaring him into a hasty dodge.

Immediately afterward, Lister's mournful voice echoed through the air:

"A new batch of mechas has arrived, and your 'Cyber Sword Immortal' can't fit them anymore!"

"Put that one on yourself!"
