Chapter 156 Spotting the Target
Upon hearing Ye Hai's words, Qiao and Ling were both astonished by his sheer ambition.
"Capture the Alien Queen?"
"So that was your plan all along!"
"Then let me guess... Once you capture the Alien Queen, you'll have a way to control all the aliens?"
Ye Hai nodded and replied, "I do have that thought in mind."
"However, whether we can control the Alien Queen..."
"And even if we do, whether controlling the Queen means we can control all the other aliens... is still uncertain!"
"However, if we can acquire the Black Goo from the experimental base..."
"I can recreate an entirely new alien race!"
Pausing for a moment, Ye Hai looked at Qiao and said, "As for a frontal assault, let's not even discuss whether we can break through..."
"Even if we manage to fight our way underground... either we or the aliens will suffer catastrophic losses..."
"The most likely outcome would be mutual destruction!"
"That does not serve our interests."
"Therefore, the Holy Son of the Dusa Resistance, the one who can open portals, becomes extremely crucial."
"Now that the aliens have already appeared on the surface, it is both a crisis and an opportunity for us."
"The crisis stems from the fact that the alien offensive is imminent... and we are not yet prepared!"
"The opportunity lies in... since the aliens are swarming onto the surface in large numbers, if we can teleport directly underground to launch a surprise attack..."
"The number of enemies we face will be drastically reduced!"
"The success rate of the plan to capture the Alien Queen will increase significantly!"
"Alright, let's leave it at that for now."
"We will split up immediately... I will head out first to prevent the Holy Son from being parasitized by the aliens."
With that, Ye Hai waved his hand, and two vampires were summoned.
One landed on his own body, while the other grabbed the Dusa Resistance soldier and took flight into the air.
After briefly discerning the direction, they flew rapidly toward the northwest.
...
About half an hour later.
Ye Hai suddenly spotted human corpses scattered across the wilderness below.
Clearly, a fierce battle had taken place here.
Without a doubt, it had ended in the rout of the Dusa Resistance.
More than two hundred human corpses and ten alien carcasses confirmed Ye Hai's hypothesis.
The Dusa Resistance soldier beside him spoke up, "The situation is grim!"
"Previously, the Holy Son was able to open a portal and escape the monsters' pursuit just before they caught up."
"But judging by the traces here, they were already overtaken by the monsters once, and the Holy Son failed to open a portal in time to escape..."
"That means opening the portal next time will inevitably take even longer!"
"Once the soldiers fail to hold out until the portal opens..."
"I'm afraid everyone will be killed."
Ye Hai frowned slightly and ordered the vampire to carry him down to the ground.
After a brief observation, he discovered that all the mutilated corpses had been slashed open by the sharp claws of the aliens.
The intact corpses, however, all had a massive gaping hole in their chests.
Clearly, after being parasitized, the chestbursters had torn their way out.
Ye Hai asked, "Can you determine which direction the Holy Son would teleport to?"
The soldier hesitated for a moment, contemplated, and replied, "Probably to the north."
"There is an abandoned underground camp there."
"The underground tunnels are very narrow and easy to defend while difficult to attack!"
"It can buy some time and make it convenient for the Holy Son to recover his strength!"
Ye Hai nodded without hesitation.
"Let's go, lead the way!"
...
Soon, from the sky, Ye Hai spotted approximately three thousand aliens launching a ferocious assault on an underground cave.
However, this underground cave was just as the soldier had described... extremely narrow.
Only a single alien could squeeze into the tunnel at a time.
Yet, moments later, a flash of gunfire erupted, and the aliens were riddled with bullets.
It seemed the Dusa Resistance had temporarily stabilized their position.
However, Ye Hai knew very well.
This was all an illusion.
The aliens before them were no longer the standard creatures seen in films!
Since the underground experimental base of Karan Biological Genetics Corporation was originally a place used for researching the ART virus...
It was bound to have stored a massive amount of insect-like mutant life forms.
And those mutants served as excellent incubation hosts for the aliens.
They were destined to give birth to a batch of mutant aliens possessing bizarre abilities.
Much like those mobile parasitic sources, the slug-like aliens.
Sure enough, Ye Hai did not have to wait long.
A massive black moth flew out from the swarm of aliens.
Ye Hai was slightly startled; yet another entirely unprecedented type of alien.
A half-meter-long moth... its abdomen shaped like an alien skull.
At this moment, it was swollen to a huge size, resembling a heavy-bellied moth about to give birth.
The moth landed near the cave entrance, its abdominal cavity pulsating rhythmically several times.
A cluster of black eggs, each the size of a fist, were laid.
Shortly after, worker-class aliens tossed the black eggs into the cave one by one.
Just as Ye Hai felt a tinge of confusion, one of the eggs that had not yet been thrown into the cave suddenly burst open.
Instantly, dense swarms of tiny black moths fluttered their wings and took flight.
As high-powered rifles continuously fired from within the cave, the flashes of light immediately drew the attention of these tiny moths.
Swarming in a massive dark cloud, they rushed into the cave.
Not long after, several Dusa Resistance soldiers burst out from the cave.
Their weapons were nowhere to be found.
They wailed frantically, continuously slapping at the tiny black moths crawling all over their bodies.
However, the soldiers' efforts were in vain.
The overwhelming number of tiny moths burrowed relentlessly into the soldiers' clothing.
Several others desperately forced their way into their mouths, nostrils, and ears.
Within moments, the soldiers collapsed onto the ground, convulsing violently.
A few minutes later, they lay completely still and motionless on the ground!
Silently, Ye Hai calculated the time in his mind. When he counted to roughly three hundred, the soldiers' chests burst open.
Chestbursters crawled out one after another.
"Five minutes..."
"From parasitism to the emergence of the juvenile stage!"
"This reproductive speed is simply too fast!"
"If these aliens are allowed to expand recklessly... I'm afraid the entire Zombie Planet won't even last two years."
"I wonder what kind of spectacle it would be if these aliens were to go to war against the intelligent mutant factions..."
Just as Ye Hai fell into deep contemplation...
The large black moth produced another batch of moth eggs and tossed them into the cave.
Ye Hai understood that this cave couldn't hold out much longer!
With a casual sweep of his hand in the air, the portal to the cabin in the woods appeared.
A massive swarm of vampires flew out from it.
"Spread out and monitor a ten-kilometer radius... As soon as a portal appears, signal me immediately."
In an instant, a vast swarm of bats scattered in all directions, drawing the attention of the aliens below.
However, Ye Hai paid them no mind.
Worker aliens could not fly.
Nor was there any sign of massive aerial units among the alien forces below.
If those giant moths dared to approach, Ye Hai would summon a sufficient number of air forces to tear the enemy to pieces.
A short while later, a signal was sent from the southeast.
Ye Hai smiled faintly: "They've emerged."
Instantly, the bats gathered on Ye Hai boosted their speed to the maximum, racing swiftly toward the target direction...
