Chapter 116: Willing to Fall from Heaven for You
Le Yixian opened her eyes and gazed up at a magnificent firmament.
A sharp, stabbing pain pierced her head. "Ugh..."
"My Lord, you are awake?" A gentle, worried voice sounded.
Le Yixian turned her head and, through the sheer curtains, saw a woman kneeling by the bedside.
"My Lord, you have been in a deep slumber for quite some time. The Lord sent someone to summon you several years ago, instructing you to proceed to the Main Hall once you awoke," the woman said respectfully from outside the bed.
Le Yixian rubbed her temples and surveyed her surroundings. This was an incredibly spacious bedroom. The massive bed she lay upon could easily accommodate ten people, and white gauze drapes hung around it, partially obscuring the view of the ornate, exquisite furniture and decorations in the room.
Le Yixian stepped down from the bed. The woman who had been waiting nearby stepped forward respectfully to help her dress.
Le Yixian: "..."
Wings???
Bird-people???
No, she had never written about bird-people.
Angels!!!
Le Yixian stared in shock at the pair of pure white wings on the back of the beautiful woman, her mind racing as she tried to deduce the setting of this world.
The woman before her, who possessed a proud, statuesque figure, wore a long white dress with white cloth wrapped around her feet. She had golden hair and blue eyes, and her snowy wings were folded slightly behind her, as if she were an angel who had descended from heaven.
"My Lord, is something wrong?" The woman, noticing her mistress's gaze while adjusting her clothes, felt a bit puzzled.
"No, it's nothing..." Le Yixian’s words trailed off mid-sentence, for as she looked down, she saw that her own chest was flat and defined by abdominal muscles.
Le Yixian: "???"
Le Yixian: "???!!!"
What was going on???
Was she a man in this world???
Why wasn't she a woman???
Le Yixian was terrified. Although, as an author, she had once fantasized about how great it would be to be a man—to be able to flirt with girls everywhere, act like a scoundrel, and live freely—now that she had actually become a man, she found it impossible to accept.
Le Yixian subconsciously reached out to touch her pectoral muscles; they were firm, resilient, and felt very real.
*Sob*, but she wanted to be a woman.
Le Yixian thought silently to herself.
The moment that thought crossed her mind, a flash of white light occurred. When she appeared again, a proud, feminine bust stood before her.
Le Yixian: "..."
What was happening????
"Does my Lord wish to appear in a female form this time? You truly are breathtakingly beautiful!" the attendant angel exclaimed in admiration.
Wait, no—the man before you suddenly turned into a woman, aren't you afraid???
Don't you find it strange???
Le Yixian screamed silently in her heart.
"My Lord, it is time to head to the Holy Temple," the angel said respectfully after finishing the adjustment of her robes.
Le Yixian took slow steps forward, with the angel following behind. Upon exiting the room, she entered a corridor paved with marble. At both ends of the hall stood exquisite gold artifacts, and the walls were adorned with many oil paintings of angels.
Le Yixian stopped in front of one painting and stood motionless. It depicted a scene of angels kneeling in worship, their faces filled with profound reverence as they bowed toward the highest god, expressing their supreme devotion.
"Michael, you're awake?" A voice as gentle as a breeze came from behind her.
Le Yixian turned around and saw a man in blue robes standing not far away, smiling at her.
"Lord Raphael," the angel curtsied respectfully.
"Just in time. The Lord asked me to come and wake you. I was worried you might give me a beating," the man named Raphael said with a laugh as he approached. "Well? After sleeping for years, how is your strength recovering?"
Michael, Raphael—two of the twelve-winged seraphim of Western mythology, and also common villains used by authors.
A flood of information surged through Le Yixian's mind, and she nodded at Raphael. "Yes, I’ve recovered quite well."
"Then let us go see the Father together," Raphael said. "It seems the Father has a task for us this time."
Le Yixian needed someone to lead the way, so she followed him quietly.
The two traversed the long corridor and stepped out of the magnificent palace. Outside, the sun was brilliant. In the distance, bells tolled, startling the pigeons in the plaza, and the mist from the fountains caught the light to reveal vivid rainbows. On a distant mountain stood a palace crafted from crystal, radiating a sacred, inviolable aura. High in the azure sky, angels with wings unfurled played and laughed freely.
Le Yixian was stunned by the scene before her.
"The Father has been waiting for a long time; let’s hurry," Raphael said. With a rustle, his snowy wings unfurled from his back, and white feathers drifted down in the wind.
"Oh, I forgot. You don't like to fly to the Crystal Palace," Raphael said, remembering something and smiling before Le Yixian could react.
The sound of hooves approached, and a magnificent carriage drawn by four celestial horses pulled to a stop before them.
The angel driving the carriage dismounted respectfully. "Lord Michael, Lord Raphael, please!"
Inside the carriage, it was very quiet. A gentle breeze drifted in through the windows, and Le Yixian looked down at the world below. She discovered that it was divided into nine levels, each inhabited by living beings.
"Michael, you seem a bit different since you woke up this time," Raphael, who sat opposite her, suddenly remarked.
Le Yixian glanced at him and asked, "Do I?"
"Yes. I rarely see you present yourself in a female form," Raphael continued with a smile. "And that overbearing aura you usually carry has diminished quite a bit."
"Is that so?" Le Yixian replied casually. "I've been in a deep slumber for a long time; I haven't fully adjusted yet."
"What do you think the Father wants with us this time?"
Le Yixian's gaze rested on the approaching sacred Crystal Palace. The Father—could it be the one from Western mythology?
Authors often depicted him as the ultimate mastermind behind the scenes. She wondered what he looked like.
By the way, since she was in this world, would she be able to see the most popular character of legend—Lucifer!
Hmm, what was Lucifer's name before he fell from heaven?
Luci... Lucifer!!! That seemed to be the name.
She remembered that during middle school, the Western angel-demon series was very popular, and she had even written several books of that type. The protagonist was always Lucifer, though it seemed she had left them all unfinished.
The carriage stopped steadily in front of the ornate Crystal Palace. Le Yixian and Raphael entered the hall of the palace.
A sacred voice emanated from the high throne: "Michael, you are awake?"
"Yes, Father!" Le Yixian, following Raphael's example, knelt down.
"News has arrived from Hell that Lucifer has gone to the human realm. You and Raphael shall go and investigate; do not let him cause chaos in the human world."
Lucifer—this meant he had already fallen.
"Michael," the voice called out again, "your heart is in turmoil."
Le Yixian’s expression turned solemn. Recalling that the gods in Western mythology could see into the inner worlds of their followers, she quickly calmed her mind.
"I know you and Lucifer were close, but do not forget, he has already fallen."
