Chapter 128: Willing to Fall from Heaven for You 13
The two figures on the magic circle looked up simultaneously, their pupils contracting as they recognized the newcomer.
He possessed an intimidating aura, dressed in black robes embroidered with magnificent golden patterns. His long hair flowed behind him, and a vibrant red diamond-shaped gem was set against his pristine forehead. His handsome features were enough to make the sun and moon pale in comparison, and the six jet-black wings unfurled behind him clearly identified his status.
The arrogant Baal extinguished his flames, knelt on one knee, and offered a respectful salute: "Your Majesty!"
Gabriel looked up at the peerlessly handsome man with the black wings in the sky, momentarily dazed. Her eyes were filled with complex emotions as she murmured, "Your Highness..."
"Baal, Gabriel, have you forgotten the rule against fighting in the human realm?" Lucifer asked, his thin lips slightly pursed.
"Your Majesty, please forgive me!" The once-haughty Demon King Baal could only shrink away in the presence of his sovereign.
"It... it was he who provoked me first," the overbearing Gabriel said, looking rather awkward.
She gazed at Lucifer with a hint of nostalgia. Before he fell from Heaven, he was the angel they respected most, second only to the Father. The titles of Vice-Regent of Heaven and Morning Star were not bestowed lightly.
Since his fall, he had hidden in the deepest reaches of Hell and never emerged. During the Holy War, it was decreed that Lucifer, as Satan, could not enter the battlefield; otherwise, God would have participated, and no number of demons would have required the Almighty to lift a finger.
Gabriel had not seen him for ten thousand years. She spoke with difficulty: "Your High... Lucifer, as Satan, why have you come to the human realm?"
"This part of the human realm is not under Heaven's jurisdiction," Lucifer replied, casting a faint glance at her. "Aren't you Seraphs running about down here as well?"
Gabriel remained silent; this territory was indeed not under their control.
"An Eastern deity has already filed a complaint with the relevant department regarding the two of you fighting in the city center and causing severe damage to public property. Remember to pay the fine." As Lucifer spoke, he raised a slender, long-fingered hand and pointed directly at the magic circle below.
"Wait!" Realizing his intent, Gabriel tried to intervene, but the only response was a crisp, sharp cracking sound.
The previously transparent barrier and magic circle fractured, with cracks rapidly spreading across them until both shattered entirely.
"Baal, let's go," Lucifer commanded his subordinate.
"Yes," Baal rose, his purple lightning lifting him into the air despite his lack of wings.
"Your Highness, wait!" Gabriel called out, regaining her senses. "Why did you betray the Father for that little angel and leave us!!!"
Lucifer paused, but he did not speak and continued on his way.
Baal, however, flashed a cheeky grin and waved goodbye.
Watching the receding figures grow smaller, Gabriel collapsed onto the grass. All her elegance and composure vanished as she covered her face and sobbed.
She was unwilling to accept this—truly unwilling. They were the subordinates who had followed His Highness the longest. They could never understand why their Vice-Regent, the pride of Heaven, would abandon his glory to fall.
Elsewhere, Lucifer looked at his high-spirited subordinate and asked, "Baal, where were you earlier?"
Baal’s smile stiffened. He scratched his cheek, looking somewhat embarrassed. "Uh, I went to see a regular human."
"Where did you see them?" Lucifer asked.
"In Gabriel’s house," Baal replied, feeling even more awkward. Noticing his sovereign’s face darkening, he quickly changed the subject: "Your Majesty, did you come specifically to save me?"
Lucifer glanced at him without answering.
Suddenly, a youthful immortal in flowing robes appeared out of thin air before them. The youth bowed to Lucifer: "Thank you, Your Satanic Majesty, for stopping the two from fighting."
"It is nothing," Lucifer said, expressionless.
"Then, Mr. Baal, please pay your fine." The youth produced a ledger and began tallying the costs: "You fought with the Seraph Gabriel high above the city at ten o'clock tonight, causing twenty flights to be delayed and nearly downing a plane in mid-air. Furthermore, you activated a high-level, large-scale magic spell—the 'Invincible Lightning Array'—without the authorization of the relevant departments, causing a shift in the city's air currents and knocking Gabriel into the road, where she created a large crater..."
"Stop, just tell me how much," Baal said, his scalp tingling.
"The total damages are calculated at 34.59 million yuan," the youth replied.
"Are you trying to rob me?" Baal jumped up.
The youth looked at him innocently. "Mr. Baal, this is only half the fine; the other half will be collected from Ms. Gabriel. Besides, we do not issue fines without cause. Many ordinary people witnessed you and Ms. Gabriel fighting in the sky, and we had to expend significant effort to manage the situation. Such human and material resources require money. Furthermore, your side has a signed agreement with His Satanic Majesty regarding the prohibition of fighting in the Eastern human realm. Surely you aren't planning to renege on your debt?"
Baal’s mouth twitched. "Fine, I understand. I'll transfer it to your official account later."
"Very well, I will record it," the youth said, nodding and making a note in his ledger.
"These Eastern immortals are even more terrifying than vampires!" Baal lamented the loss of his money.
"Hmm?" The youth’s ears twitched. He looked up, staring at the purple lightning beneath Baal’s feet, and smiled brightly. "By the way, Mr. Baal, you are currently violating our city’s no-fly zone. That will also be a fine."
Baal: "There's more?"
"Mr. Baal, did you apply for a flight permit from the relevant department before taking off?"
Baal: "No... no, I didn't!"
"I see. I will issue you a ticket for that as well. Remember to pay it at the Traffic Department."
Having been hit with another penalty, Baal clutched his chest, nearly vomiting blood. He pointed at his sovereign and asked, "Then, does my Majesty have to pay a fine too?"
"Of course not. His Satanic Majesty holds a flight permit," the youth continued to smile.
Baal: "..."
These duplicitous Eastern immortals were truly detestable.
When Le Yixian woke up, she sensed that the atmosphere in the house was off. After a careful inspection, she realized that both the barrier and the magic circle had been destroyed.
*Could it be that Gabriel fought with someone from Hell again last night?* she wondered to herself.
After washing up with Anmira and heading downstairs, she found that everyone in the villa, from the owner to the servants, looked exhausted and distressed.
"Senior Baili? Good morning!" Anmira greeted cautiously, seeing Gabriel sitting on the sofa in her nightgown, radiating a gloomy aura.
"Morning. If you have nothing else to do, you may leave," Gabriel said, casting a cold glance at them before looking down at her phone.
Back at her own residence, Le Yixian opened the group chat and saw a message Gabriel had sent at two in the morning: *I am going to kill An Qiyue!!!*
