Le Yixian saw that both Raphael and Haniya were asking for updates in the group chat.

Fight Me: My Lord has been ruined by her just like this. I cannot accept it.
Fight Me: I will not find peace until she is killed.
Flower of the Village: Clap, clap, clap, clap. Wow, look at you using idioms. Impressive.
Fight Me: Get lost!
Starlight Emerald: Gabriel, please calm down. Even if you killed that little angel a thousand times, Lucifer would not change back into the Lord Lucifer of the past.
Flower of the Village: Exactly, keep your cool. Father specifically instructed us to bring Angel Yue back.
Fight Me: Bring her back my foot! You two newborn seraphim know absolutely nothing. Don’t try to stop me.
Fight Me: Or else I’ll fight you too!

Silence fell over the chat.

Le Yixian stared at her phone, lost in thought. Gabriel had been perfectly fine before; why had she become so agitated in the early hours of the morning?

Wait, were barriers and formations really that easy to destroy?

She vaguely remembered the hem of Gabriel’s nightgown being stained with soil. Did that mean that Lucifer had been there?

She called out to Gousheng in her mind, and the latter responded quickly: "Mistress, is something the matter?"

"I am going to Heaven to see God. Stay silent by my side and observe if he is Ke Yuandao," Le Yixian instructed.

"Understood, leave it to me," Gousheng replied cheerfully.

Le Yixian returned to Heaven and headed straight for the Crystal Heaven Sanctuary, only to find the great doors firmly shut.

She furrowed her brow: "Father, Michael requests an audience. Please open the door!"

There was no movement inside. She called out a few more times, but there was still no response.

"Michael, why have you returned?" A voice came from behind her. Le Yixian turned to see a gentle, elegant man hurrying toward her.

"Metatron, I encountered something and wanted to ask Father a question." Le Yixian recognized the angel—the Chancellor of Heaven, Metatron.

"Father has fallen asleep. If you have questions, you can wait until he wakes up," Metatron said.

Le Yixian: "..."

Asleep!!!

As far as she knew, once he fell asleep, he would be out for at least a few hundred years, if not longer.

"What is your question?" Metatron asked, noticing her grim expression.

"Do you... do you have a portrait of Father?" Le Yixian asked.

Metatron paused, then nodded: "I once painted a portrait of Father."

In the portrait, the man sat in a chair, one hand supporting his chin, the other resting on a book upon his lap. His long silver hair fell loosely, his expression one of slight contemplation, his blue eyes fixed on some distant point.

Le Yixian’s eyes grew warm as she looked at the painting. The color of the hair and eyes had changed, and his features were quite different, but she could still faintly see the shadow of Ke Yuandao.

So, he had been in this world all along.

"Michael, what is wrong?" Metatron was startled by the tears suddenly streaming down the face of the Archangel.

"It’s nothing. I just think you painted it so well," Le Yixian said, wiping away her tears.

Having been complimented, Metatron was very pleased. Seeing her friend roll up the painting, he asked, "Would you like to keep it?"

"No," Metatron refused without a second thought.

Helpless, Le Yixian could only take a photo with her phone.

After leaving Heaven, Le Yixian opened the photo and asked Gousheng: "Is this your master?"

"Hmm, he looks very similar, but I cannot sense his aura," Gousheng answered honestly.

"He is in a deep slumber, and there is a barrier outside the sanctuary. I will take you back when he wakes up," Le Yixian said.

Gousheng acknowledged this and went back to working on system repairs.

On Monday, when school started, Le Yixian was surprised to find Huang Ze, who usually only cared about his studies, with several adhesive bandages on his right cheek.

"What happened to you?" Le Yixian couldn't help but ask.

Huang Ze, who had been calculating a math problem, looked up. Seeing it was her, his gaze drifted away, and he replied embarrassedly: "I was reading while walking and didn't notice a tree branch. I got scratched."

Hearing this reason, the corner of Le Yixian's mouth twitched. "Don't read while walking; it will increase your prescription."

"It's fine. My vision is already quite poor; a little worse doesn't matter," Huang Ze said, pushing up his glasses.

Le Yixian: "..."

Fine, you’re the expert.

She returned to her seat, a scene suddenly flashing through her mind. She subconsciously looked at Huang Ze, who had gone back to his practice problems. She remembered that on Friday night, that arrogant Baal had also been scratched on his right cheek by the sword qi of her heavy sword.

The location seemed to be about the same.

Le Yixian glanced over at Lin Xuan, who was chatting happily with some girls on the other side. That guy’s face was perfectly smooth, not even a single pimple.

Come to think of it, she had never seen Huang Ze take off his glasses.

The style was similar to the ones she had bought in Heaven. Could they be a disguise as well?

Whatever. It didn't matter to her whether he was Baal or not.

Class began, and Teacher Liu announced that in a month, the school would hold its autumn sports meet. On the final day, all teachers and students would participate in the cross-country race. Anyone with physical issues should inform the sports representative in advance.

Cross-country race!! Le Yixian rubbed her chin.

"Xiaoxian, what event are you signing up for?" An Mila asked after signing up for the 100-meter dash.

Le Yixian thought about it and declined: "I’m not very good at sports."

"That’s true. I’ve never seen you play during P.E. class," An Mila recalled and nodded.

At lunchtime, the cafeteria was still packed.

An Mila scanned the area, and upon seeing something, she looked delighted and headed over first.

"Huang Ze, is anyone sitting here?" An Mila asked.

Huang Ze looked up, saw An Mila holding her tray, and then his gaze fell on Le Yixian behind her. He shook his head: "No one."

Le Yixian and An Mila sat down opposite him.

"Huang Ze, do you like fried chicken wings that much?" An Mila asked.

"Fried chicken and cola—happiness like a god!" Huang Ze suddenly blurted out.

An Mila nodded in agreement: "Haha, exactly! It’s a pity the cafeteria doesn’t serve cola."

Le Yixian’s hand paused as she went to pick up some rice. She looked at Huang Ze, who was eating his fried chicken, and a strange thought occurred to her. She took a piece of broccoli from her tray and placed it in front of him: "Why aren't you eating your vegetables? Your nutrition isn't balanced this way."

Huang Ze looked down at the broccoli, hesitated for a moment, picked it up, chewed it, and swallowed. He looked up at Le Yixian and said: "I understand."

"Cough," Le Yixian hadn't expected him not to mind, so she gave a dry cough and looked away.

"Huang Ze, really, don't be a picky eater. Be careful, or you won't grow taller!" An Mila, who was quite carefree and hadn't noticed the odd atmosphere, nodded in agreement with her friend, seeing that Huang Ze’s tray was almost entirely meat.

Huang Ze didn't speak again and continued eating his fried chicken wings.

Le Yixian lowered her head to eat as well. Ke Yuandao didn't like broccoli—he absolutely loathed it.
