“Mu Xue, I don’t want to marry you!” An Xiansi, supporting himself on a crutch, burst into the hospital room and froze in shock as he took in the scene before him.
Le Yixian glanced at the lips she’d nearly kissed, released her hold with some regret, and rolled her eyes at her foolish son, saying, “I don’t want to marry you either, thank you.”
An Xiansi snapped back to his senses, looking from Le Yixian’s calm face to Ke Yuandao, who seemed both embarrassed and resentful, his handsome face full of disbelief. “What are you two doing?”
“Isn’t it obvious? We’re kissing,” Le Yixian replied.
“Kissing?” The heir of the most prominent family in China and the head of ZZ4, Felton Dickens Blue Poseidon Zeus Florio An Xiansi, repeated the word with a strange expression. “Kissing?”
“Uh, you don’t know what kissing means? Artistically, it’s called a kiss. More bluntly, it’s just mouth-to-mouth. In English, it’s ‘kiss.’ In French, it’s…” Le Yixian blinked and earnestly explained to her foolish son.
“Stop, I know what it means—don’t say any more.” An Xiansi interrupted Le Yixian’s serious explanation. “What’s going on between you two?”
As he spoke, he jabbed his finger at Ke Yuandao beside him, evidently furious. “You… what’s your relationship with this shorty?”
“We’re a couple,” Le Yixian replied.
An Xiansi: “…Impossible.”
“Why not? Aren’t you and Yiyi dating too?”
“Haven’t you always liked me?” An Xiansi looked at the girl before him, feeling an inexplicable pang of jealousy.
“No, I’ve never liked you.” Le Yixian’s expression grew serious as she answered, “Our engagement was arranged by our parents. You don’t want it, and neither do I. I believe it’ll be dissolved soon.”
“Mu Xue,” An Xiansi calmed down, glanced at the short boy, shot him a glare, then turned to the girl. “Are you really going to be with this shorty?”
“I’ll grow taller,” Ke Yuandao retorted, glaring back, “and I’ll be taller than you.”
“Taller than me? Are you joking?” An Xiansi sneered, limping forward on his crutch, stopping in front of Ke Yuandao and gesturing for comparison.
Though still in high school, An Xiansi already stood at 180 centimeters, Le Yixian at 163, and Ke Yuandao at 156.
The outcome was obvious.
“Hey, that’s enough,” Le Yixian said bluntly, and without mercy, kicked An Xiansi’s uninjured leg.
He jumped, nearly falling to the ground. “Mu Xue, what are you doing?”
“What does my boyfriend’s height have to do with you?”

“I… I may not be your fiancé anymore, but…” An Xiansi was suffocating with frustration. Mu Xue had taken the initiative to break off the engagement, and he should have been delighted.
But seeing Li Muxue’s boyfriend, this shorty, he felt no joy at all. The feeling was strange, as if… as if the cabbage he had carefully raised had been devoured by a pig!
That’s right—this shorty was a pig!
“I’m still your older brother. I don’t approve of you having a boyfriend!” An Xiansi finally straightened out his feelings.
After all, Li Muxue, this prized cabbage, had grown up under his nose. How could he let her be claimed by this short-legged pig?
With that thought, An Xiansi’s glare toward Ke Yuandao grew even sharper.
Le Yixian: “…”
You’re clearly my foolish son, yet you want to be my brother?
“Felton Dickens Blue Poseidon Zeus Florio An Xiansi!” At that moment, an angry shout rang out from outside. Father An strode in, followed by a swarm of medical staff. “Do you not want your leg anymore? Who allowed you to get out of bed?”
“Dad, my leg is fine now,” An Xiansi protested, aggrieved.
“Fine? Should I have the doctor remove your cast then?” Father An sneered.
An Xiansi was rendered speechless.
“Quick, get him back to bed.” Seeing his son’s silence, Father An waved his hand. The medical staff pushed in a wheelchair, lifted An Xiansi, who was still on his crutch, into it, and started wheeling him out.
“Wait, Dad! You can’t let Mu Xue stay with that shorty. He’s just a short-legged pig eyeing my cabbage…” An Xiansi’s protest was cut off as the staff pushed him away.
“This child, honestly,” Father An shook his head helplessly, then turned to Ke Yuandao with a gentle smile. “Sorry, young man. I’ll make sure to scold that brother of yours for you.”
“Thank you, sir, but I’m already a high school freshman—I’m not some little kid,” Ke Yuandao replied.
Father An looked at his height, then turned to Le Yixian for confirmation. She nodded, and he felt a bit awkward. “No worries. Eat more meat, young man—you’ll grow taller.”
After exchanging a few more words with Le Yixian, he hurried off.
The group had come in with great commotion, but once they left, the hospital room fell silent.
“Senior,” Ke Yuandao called, his voice tinged with grievance, “Am I really that short?”
Le Yixian thought for a moment before answering, “You’ll grow taller in the future.”

During his university years, Ke Yuandao shot up like a bamboo shoot in spring, reaching 183 centimeters in just two years.
Ke Yuandao thought it over. “I’ll make sure to eat plenty of meat.”
He was determined to grow a little taller every day.
“Good boy,” Le Yixian patted his head. “When can you leave the hospital?”
“Uncle checked me over. My wound is healing well. I can be discharged in three days,” Ke Yuandao replied.
Le Yixian nodded. “Get well soon.”
Once he recovered, they could return to school and enjoy a sweet campus romance—how wonderful that would be.
But only a few days after Ke Yuandao’s discharge, An Xiansi—who was supposed to recuperate at home for three months—returned to school.
He hobbled into the classroom on his crutch, still in his hospital gown. The girls were thrilled, and the trio of Beitang, Cha Mo, and the others rushed over. “Xiansi, you’re finally back!”
“Weren’t you supposed to recuperate for three months?”
An Xiansi said nothing, brushing past them to stand before Le Yixian. His lips pressed into a thin line, he asked in a low voice, “Mu Xue, have you seen Yiyan?”
“???”
“She’s disappeared.” An Xiansi looked grim. “She used to visit me every day and chat, but three days ago she said she needed to go home, and I haven’t been able to reach her since.”
“Why don’t you go to her house?” Le Yixian raised an eyebrow. According to the original plot, this was when Father An should appear to obstruct their romance.
“I went, but she wouldn’t see me,” An Xiansi said in anguish. “You know I’ve already fallen in love with her. I can’t live without her. Will you help me find her?”
The ZZ4 trio: “???”
Their classmates: “????”
Did they hear that right? An Xiansi just said he’d fallen in love with Guo Yiyan?
What the hell—when did those two get together?
