Chapter 44: The Logistics Steward is Her! Military Expansion

Li Yunlong never expected that the headquarters would send a female comrade to the New First Regiment.

This person was none other than Dongfang Wenying from *Historical Sky*.

She possessed both delicate beauty and profound political cultivation, making her an intellectual woman with the grace of a fairy.

Dongfang Wenying stepped forward and smartly executed a military salute with spirited grace.

"Reporting to Regiment Commander Li, Dongfang Wenying of the Propaganda Department is here to report to you. Awaiting your instructions."

Recovering from his initial surprise, Li Yunlong returned the salute.

"Welcome~"

He then took the presented letter of introduction and examined it.

So she was arranged by the Deputy Chief of Staff to assist him in managing the base area?

This truly came as a surprise to him.

He had not expected the Deputy Chief of Staff to be so thorough in his considerations.

This would certainly save him a lot of trouble.

"Comrade Dongfang Wenying, I am already familiar with your background. I must ask for your hard work in taking charge of propaganda, the management of the base area, and political ideological education from now on."

Dongfang Wenying responded cheerfully, "You are too polite, Regiment Commander. This is my duty!"

Li Yunlong nodded slightly, then personally led Dongfang Wenying to meet the heads of various departments within the regimental headquarters, introducing them to her and helping her settle into her work swiftly.

This left Dongfang Wenying both deeply moved and somewhat puzzled.

After all, before coming here, she had already reviewed the files concerning Li Yunlong.

Initially, she had felt quite apprehensive in her heart.

According to the files and evaluations from other comrades, Li Yunlong was not someone easy to get along with.

Crude, unhygienic, averse to studying, short-tempered...

Yet, upon actual contact, he was completely different from the rumors.

Even after finishing the introductions of the departmental heads, she still had not fully recovered from her surprise.

However, having such an easy-going superior instantly ignited her enthusiasm for work, and the personal charm radiated by Li Yunlong made her feel especially close to him.

At this moment, Li Yunlong handed over the materials in his hand and instructed, "I need you to copy or print out at least ten copies of this manual. Of course, the more, the better."

"Understood!"

With a look of confusion on her face, Dongfang Wenying glanced at the title of the manual and murmured, "Militia Military Training Manual?"

"Go ahead," Li Yunlong instructed. "If there is anything in the manual you find unclear, come directly to me."

"Alright!" Dongfang Wenying saluted, then turned to get to work.

Since this was the very first mission assigned to her by the regiment commander, she had to complete it to perfection.

At the same time, she felt a strong sense of curiosity about this *Militia Military Training Manual*.

Was this manual compiled by the regiment commander himself?

Upon reviewing its contents afterward, she could not help being drawn in, her heart filled with wave after wave of astonishment.

The contents of this manual were simple and easy to understand, capable of guiding new recruits in their growth.

This truly was a wonderful 'book'!

On the other side, after making arrangements for the *Militia Military Training Manual*, Li Yunlong immediately took out the *Barefoot Doctor Manual* and went to find Ding Ling.

On one hand, he wanted to consult Ding Ling regarding the feasibility of implementing the manual.

On the other hand, he intended to cultivate more medical personnel through Ding Ling.

After all, many of the soldiers were practically illiterate, making direct popularization quite difficult.

Training could only be carried out through the instruction of relevant personnel.

After examining the contents of the *Barefoot Doctor Manual*, Ding Ling was instantly captivated.

Although her medical skills were quite good, they were not comprehensive.

This manual filled her with immense astonishment and deep excitement.

"Regiment Commander, where did this book come from?"

Li Yunlong brushed it off evasively, "Acquired by accident, and there's only one copy. You must keep it safe!"

"If it's feasible, have Dongfang Wenying arrange for people to copy it into volumes. I need you to organize personnel to train more medical staff in this field."

"Can you do it?"

Gathering her courage, Ding Ling replied, "Yes!"

She was naturally not a very talkative person, but she still accepted this mission.

After all, since it concerned countless lives, she decided to give it a try.

Li Yunlong solemnly saluted and said, "On behalf of the entire regiment, I thank you."

At a loss for how to respond, Ding Ling said, "Regiment Commander, I'm going back to work."

With that, she turned and headed back to the regimental infirmary.

Li Yunlong paused for a moment before returning to the regimental headquarters.

Through Liu Yuan's compilation and statistics, the battle report for the New First Regiment's recent engagement was complete.

The entire regiment had suffered nearly a hundred casualties, with over thirty killed and quite a few heavily wounded.

The captured spoils were equally abundant, with weapons and equipment alone sufficient to arm an entire regiment.

Supplies such as grain and medical provisions were also plentiful, making the New First Regiment's foundation even more solid and sparing Li Yunlong from immediate worries on that front.

Of course, achieving these results was naturally due in part to the ammunition and supplies Li Yunlong had drawn from his system.

In Li Yunlong's view, the development of the troops had now reached a bottleneck period.

If he wanted rapid development, he needed to expand outward.

Dispatching relevant personnel from each battalion in squad-sized units to develop other regions was the solution Li Yunlong currently had in mind.

Had it not been for the fact that the New First Regiment still bore some responsibility for guarding the arsenal, he would have already broken the troops down into smaller independent units.

After reviewing the report, Li Yunlong made up his mind. Once the copying of the *Militia Military Training Manual* was finished, he would form outward-expanding troops to rapidly increase his military strength.

"Our regiment is no longer lacking in equipment; it's also time to consider strengthening troop development. I've decided to screen personnel from each battalion and expand outward using company and platoon units."

"What do you think?"

Liu Yuan was slightly startled. After pondering for a moment, he nodded, "The youth in the base area are limited; if the troops want to develop, expanding outward is indeed necessary."

"Only... this would require the relevant personnel of these companies to be absolutely loyal to the Party, otherwise things could easily go wrong."

Naturally aware of Liu Yuan's concerns, Li Yunlong said with confidence, "I trust them!"

After all, when it came to these personnel, he would naturally use his loyalty-detection skill to vet them thoroughly.

Seeing how confident Li Yunlong was, Liu Yuan made up his mind.

"Alright, I'll go make the arrangements right away."

"Hard work~" Li Yunlong smiled with satisfaction.

Liu Yuan waved his hand and smiled, "Everything is for the development of the troops."

He then went off to make the arrangements.

Over the next few days, both Li Yunlong and Liu Yuan busied themselves preparing for this endeavor.

Meanwhile, under Dongfang Wenying's arrangements, the scheduled task for the *Militia Military Training Manual* was completed.

A total of ten copies had been made.

Li Yunlong took one copy of the *Militia Military Training Manual* along with a letter and instructed a communication soldier to deliver them to the Deputy Chief of Staff.

After all, this was the fastest way to get things implemented.

Moreover, the Deputy Chief of Staff was stationed closest to him.

...

In the regimental headquarters conference room.

At this moment, the conference room was filled with battalion commanders, as well as the newly selected company and platoon commanders.

Everyone wore expressions of puzzlement.

They could not understand why the regimental headquarters had added the establishment of an independent company.

Through the screening conducted by Li Yunlong and Liu Yuan, the three battalions had respectively formed the First, Second, and Third Independent Companies.

These were the governing units arranged by Li Yunlong for outward expansion.

Not only were the independent companies mostly composed of veteran soldiers with high loyalty, but they were also equipped with politically knowledgeable instructors and medics...

Though the sparrow was small, it had all its vital organs.

This ensured that the development of the troops would not stray off course.

Scanning the crowd until the murmurs died down, Li Yunlong spoke in a resonant voice, "There is only one agenda for this meeting today."
