By the time she regained her senses, the man had already pried open her teeth, pushing deeper to stir the sweetness within her mouth.

Hardening her resolve, she bit down with all her might.

Xie Yanli let out a muffled groan of pain.

The next second, a rich, nauseating taste of blood flooded her mouth.

"Wei Yang, are you part dog?"

The man touched his tongue where she had bitten him, his sharp brows knitting together as he glared at her in irritation.

Wei Yang remained silent, though she kept a wary eye on him, as if searching for an opening to escape at any moment.

Xie Yanli’s expression darkened, heavy with the threat of an impending storm. "Tell me, why were you with Zhao Yunkai?"

Wei Yang’s face shifted slightly, and she answered truthfully, "We just happened to run into each other."

Xie Yanli narrowed his eyes, his voice carrying a warning: "Stay away from Zhao Yunkai."

Wei Yang suddenly laughed, mocking him with reckless abandon. "Master Xie, are you worried that I might end up calling you brother-in-law one day?"

"Wei Yang!"

The man before her was clearly enraged.

Wei Yang lowered her eyes, putting on a show of grievance. "Don't worry! I promised not to say anything, so I won't. But as for you..."

Before she could finish, the phone in her bag suddenly rang.

"Yangyang, have you made it home?" Zhao Yunkai’s voice sounded in her ear.

Wei Yang deliberately looked at Xie Yanli, her eyes brimming with provocation as she spoke in a soft, coquettish tone, "Mm, I just arrived."

Zhao Yunkai: "Yangyang, I truly like you. I hope you’ll consider being my girlfriend."

The volume from the earpiece had been low, but the night was so still that even the sound of her heartbeat could be heard.

Xie Yanli, standing beside her, had heard Zhao Yunkai’s words with perfect clarity. He suddenly snatched the phone from her hand and hung up.

"Do not provoke Zhao Yunkai. I do not wish to repeat myself."

He returned the phone to her and turned to leave without looking back.

Wei Yang curled her lips, her raven-dark lashes fluttering gently as she muttered to herself, "How utterly boring."

Back home, she went to bed early, knowing she had an interview the next morning.

At ten in the morning, Wei Yang appeared punctually at the interview site for the S Group.

There were twenty applicants for the position of executive secretary. Looking around, she felt the weight of the pressure on her shoulders.

The S Group was a tech company that had risen to prominence in recent years. With impressive strength, it was also a heavily supported industry in Yucheng. However, because it was young, it was not yet widely known.

Before long, it was her turn; the interviewer called her name.

Wei Yang took a deep breath, steadied her nerves, and strode toward the interview room in her high heels.

Shen Cenzhi?

Seeing the man sitting in the corner, Wei Yang panicked and quickly averted her gaze, her fingertips clenching tightly of their own accord.

She never expected to run into Shen Cenzhi in a setting like this!

She had almost forgotten him.

Shen Cenzhi was a college classmate and close friend of her brother, Wei Ting, and one of the students the Wei family had once sponsored. Because of this, he had frequently visited their home.

Yet, she had never thought much of him. Her brother often praised him for his steady demeanor and unique vision, mentioning that despite having just graduated from college, he had already earned his first pot of gold through his own efforts.

In every word, Wei Ting had shown great admiration and respect for Shen Cenzhi.

The more Wei Ting praised him in front of her, the more rebellious and disgusted she felt toward him, eventually leading her to take pleasure in teasing him.

That day was her coming-of-age ceremony, and the Wei residence was filled with guests.
