Chapter 14: My Sister Has Always Been Like This
“The meeting will proceed as scheduled. Everyone, please gather in the conference room in ten minutes.”
Yu Zi glanced at Yu Yangyang casually as she spoke. Since Yu Yangyang came to assist, Yu Zi had already distanced herself from her.
Of course, even if such an unexpected situation had truly occurred, it was a minor issue that Yu Zi could handle with ease.
Yu Yangyang looked on in disbelief.
“Sister, I know this collaboration is important to you, but isn’t this just wasting everyone’s time?”
“Although the assistant did make a mistake, she has been working with you for so many years. How can you expect her to handle this? Sister, can’t you be more magnanimous and stop causing trouble?”
Yu Yangyang, eager to watch the drama unfold, was delighted to see Yu Zi proceeding exactly as she had anticipated.
Her words were righteous, as if she truly cared about everyone’s well-being.
Yu Zi clicked her tongue and then whispered a warning in her ear.
“Yu Yangyang, I told you to stop these petty tricks. Since you insist on going this way, don’t blame me.”
“After the meeting, I’ll make sure you understand the price you have to pay.”
With that, Yu Zi ignored Yu Yangyang and strode back to her office.
Ten minutes later, in the conference room:
Everyone attending the meeting had heard about the incident earlier that day.
They exchanged glances, and those unfamiliar with Yu Zi wore impatient expressions.
“Didn't they say the projector was broken? What exactly is General Manager Yu planning? Wasting everyone’s time—is this some kind of joke?”
“Typical rich second-generation—just a little success and they start acting high and mighty.”
“Not necessarily. I’ve heard this one’s quite capable. Maybe she really has come up with another plan?”
As the crowd buzzed with speculation, a bad feeling grew in Yu Yangyang’s heart.
She didn’t know what Yu Zi was up to, but recalling the warning whispered earlier weighed heavily on her mind.
“Alright, everyone, please don’t blame my sister. This is her first time handling such a major collaboration. If your time is delayed, I will apply to Dad for compensation on your behalf. Please rest assured—my sister has always been this way, unwilling to admit defeat. I hope you can understand.”
At these words, the crowd looked at Yu Yangyang, their expressions softening considerably.
“I’ve heard the second Miss Yu is very considerate. It seems to be true.”
“But isn’t this going too far? Are we all just supposed to play along with her game?”
Just then, Yu Zi pushed open the door and entered. Seeing the crowd’s expressions, she guessed the situation.
Without wasting words, she walked to the front and spoke:
“You’ve all heard about the projector malfunction. Although this will cause some minor imperfections in our work, it’s not a problem. We can start by verbally discussing the core content, and once the projector is fixed, we will address any outstanding issues.”
“Coincidentally, this is the first time since the project began that so many of us have gathered. Everyone can speak freely and share their views.”
She then opened her laptop and continued:
“Regarding this collaboration, considering that our partners may have different habits or preferences, our company has prepared three versions of the proposal.”
“Next, I will explain the key points of each version...”
