“What do you mean by that?”
Yu Cheng frowned, his sharp gaze like a hunting rifle, fixed directly on Yu Yangyang.

“Dad, sister is slandering me. It’s not like that at all.”
Yu Yangyang argued weakly, her voice even louder than before.

“Hmph.”
Yu Zi sneered coldly and immediately played the video on her phone for Yu Cheng.

“Don’t say I’m accusing her unfairly; this is the handiwork of your own daughter.”

Yu Cheng watched the video from start to finish, his face darkening with a sudden storm of anger directed at Yu Yangyang.

Before she could speak further, tears began to fall from Yu Yangyang’s eyes.

“Dad, this video is fake. It’s all fabricated by sister to frame me. Dad, you have to stand up for me.”

Yu Cheng’s expression grew complex. Seeing Yu Zi’s face filled with anticipation as if watching a show, his anger erupted instantly.

“Yu Zi, what else do you have to say? Is this how you falsely accuse your sister?”

“Besides, even if it were true, she’s still your sister. Don’t you care at all about her reputation?”

Yu Zi found it amusing and actually laughed out loud.

---

“Yu Cheng, for the sake of your precious daughter, you really know how to twist right and wrong. You know the truth yourself.”
“Seems like you don’t want this cooperation anymore. If that’s the case, then don’t sign it.”

Hearing this, Yu Cheng felt as if his insides were about to be torn apart by anger.

He raised his hand high and brought it down hard toward Yu Zi’s direction.

Yu Zi tried to dodge but it was too late. At that moment, the expected slap never came. Instead, a familiar voice sounded in her ear.

“Tsk, Mr. Yu, is this how you treat my fiancée?”

At these words, everyone’s gaze turned to the newcomer.

Especially Yu Zi, whose eyes flickered with a moment of confusion.

It was Xie Yuhai.

There was a clear handprint on his face, revealing the culprit unmistakably.

A flash of panic crossed Yu Cheng’s eyes; he clearly didn’t expect Xie Yuhai to show up at this moment.

“Xiaohuai, why are you here now? Why didn’t the steward notify me?”

He forced a smile, though his expression looked stiff.

Before the steward could speak, Xie Yuhai continued on his own.

---

“I heard my fiancée secured a major deal, so I came to take a look. But I didn’t expect, Mr. Yu, that you’d blur the lines between public and private affairs like this.”

As he spoke, his gaze deliberately landed on Yu Zi’s phone, clearly referring to the video.

Yu Cheng’s smile stiffened briefly but quickly returned to normal.

“This video is fake. Ever since mother passed away, Xiao Zi has felt insecure and thinks I favor her sister. She likes to play these jokes. I didn’t expect Xiaohuai to catch this today. Please forgive her.”

Yu Zi said nothing, only staring straight at Yu Cheng, her eyes filled with disappointment.

Meeting that gaze, for a moment, Yu Cheng seemed to see Yu Zi’s mother again.

Once upon a time, she had looked at him with the very same eyes.

He looked away and forced a smile.

“Hmph, Mr. Yu, you really are getting old and short-sighted.”
“According to my investigation, the entire video is genuine, with no signs of tampering.”
“Or do you think the video is so convincingly fake that even we at Xie Corporation could be fooled?”
