Xie Yuhuai remained silent. He simply picked up his glass and drained it three times in a row.

"Senior," Xu Nuo said, looking at Xie Yuhuai with eyes full of concern.

"This is my own business. You don’t need to worry about it," Xie Yuhuai replied coldly, his tone carrying a faint hint of warning.

"What a trashy, classless man. Ugh," Yu Zi muttered under her breath, cursing him once more.

Xie Yuhuai wanted to explain himself, but he didn't even know why Yu Zi was angry. Ultimately, he could only let out a deep sigh and give up in frustration. Watching Yu Zi continue to drink incessantly, a flicker of light crossed his eyes, and certain thoughts raced through his mind.

"That’s the spirit! It’s a class reunion—everyone should have a good time," someone shouted. Seeing that Xie Yuhuai had finally started drinking, the atmosphere instantly warmed up.

"Honestly, I never expected that our school’s beauty and heartthrob were both secretly from wealthy families. You two kept us in the dark for so long!"

"Exactly! You guys are really good at keeping secrets. Yu Zi, you have to have a drink with me today."

There is no better way to build rapport than eating and playing together.

The class reunion, which had initially felt a bit stiff, became much more relaxed after a few drinks. Among them, the most successful ones were undoubtedly Yu Zi and Xie Yuhuai. Therefore, whether they were simply looking to drink or hoping to network, everyone flocked toward the two of them.

Xie Yuhuai’s side remained relatively calm, as Xu Nuo kept reminding others that he had a surgery coming up. Coupled with the cold, oppressive aura surrounding him, not many people dared to approach him for a drink.

Yu Zi, on the other hand, accepted everyone who came her way, and she chatted just as she had before, without a shred of arrogance. Soon, her face began to flush, and her eyes grew hazy—a clear sign that she had had too much to drink.

Xie Yuhuai’s gaze never left her. He had intended to step in and decline drinks on her behalf, but Yu Zi only glared at him coldly and retorted with sarcasm.

"Mr. Xie, my affairs don't seem to have anything to do with you, do they? I suggest you focus on taking care of the person by your side instead."

With that, she ignored him and returned to drinking with the others.

After being mocked to his face so many times, even someone with Xie Yuhuai’s temperament felt a sense of grievance. He hadn't done anything wrong, so why did it feel like the malice of the entire world was surging toward him? In the end, he could only watch her with a heavy heart, planning to find a chance to take her home later.

"Xiao Zi, are you drunk?"

Seeing the flush on Yu Zi’s face, Su Qing looked on with concern.

Yu Zi waved her hand and gave Su Qing a silly smile. "I’m fine. I just feel a bit full. Let’s go to the restroom and come back for more later."

Su Qing nodded, helped Yu Zi up, and the two walked out of the private room.

Once they were gone, Xu Nuo quietly moved to Yu Zi’s seat, a flash of malice in her eyes. *Yu Zi, you forced my hand.*

She glanced around, ensuring no one was paying attention to her. She pulled a small packet of powder from her handbag and, hidden by the sleeve of her garment, quickly emptied it into Yu Zi’s glass.

"Yuhuai, what are you looking at? You’ve been in low spirits all night."

"Everyone is here now, so don’t be so unhappy. At worst, we’ll create an opportunity for you two later so you can have a proper talk."

"Looking at the two of you, it’s obvious you still have feelings for each other. Don’t do this kind of thing that just tortures you both—it’s painful for me just to watch."
