Chapter 7: Who Will Help Me Call the Police?

Jiang Li was thrown to the entrance of the bar, and passersby cast disdainful glances at her. Chen Shaojie arrived as well, approaching obsequiously. “President Qin, my wife has a stubborn nature. If you have any grievances, feel free to punish her. After all, being disciplined by you is her fortune!”
Qin Mu responded with a swift kick, “Who are you calling a slut?”
Chen Shaojie was stunned. “Not, President Qin…” Suddenly realizing Qin Mu was protecting Jiang Li, he was dumbfounded.
Seeing them, Jiang Li sneered coldly. With Chen Shaojie here, would Qin Mu still call the police?
Jiang Xue wouldn’t help her call the police either, but how could a stranger do so?
That would only make things worse.
Looking at Chen Shaojie, Jiang Li knelt down directly. “Husband, I’m truly sorry. I can’t seduce President Qin to help you get promoted and a raise. Please don’t beat me to death. I beg you to spare my mother, don’t make things hard for my daughter, and stop domestic violence against us.
Also, President Qin asked me to perform a strip dance—I’ll do it now.”
Jiang Li feigned madness and foolishness, pulling down her dress again.
Her figure was hot, her skin pale and translucent, clad in fiery red lingerie, instantly attracting a crowd of nightlife revelers.
“Is this forcing a good woman into prostitution? Domestic violence and threats?”
“That woman is so beautiful and pitiful!”
“That man is her husband? What nonsense. Let’s expose him online, let him pay.”
Chen Shaojie looked around angrily. “Slut, you, don’t disgrace yourself here, you…”
Before he could finish, Qin Mu stepped forward. “Jiang Li, you truly are beyond cure!” He took off his suit jacket and draped it over Jiang Li, then carried her away in his arms.
Jiang Xue hurried over. “Chen Shaojie, does your wife have a mental illness?”
Chen Shaojie’s eyes brightened. “Oh yes, my wife is mentally unstable. Everyone, don’t look anymore. President Qin, thank you for taking my wife to the hospital. I will handle things.”
Just as Chen Shaojie reached the car, Qin Mu shut the door of the business van.
Chen Shaojie rubbed his nose in frustration, watching the car drive off with Jiang Li inside, helpless and anxious.
Jiang Xue approached confidently. “Chen Shaojie, as long as my son’s kidney transplant succeeds, the ten million I promised you will not be reduced.”
“Yes, President Jiang. Rest assured, Jiang Li and her daughter are both locked up in a psychiatric hospital. Please take care.”

“Well done! Once my son’s illness is cured, I will officially become the lady of the Qin family, and you will certainly benefit.”
“Yes, yes, President Jiang. I will devote my life to following your orders. That illegitimate child donating a kidney to Young Master Qin is her fortune.”
“Shh!” Jiang Xue pressed a finger to her red lips, standing on her stilettos. “You’re right. Illegitimate children must know their place. Just don’t let Qin Mu know my son’s kidney comes from that wretched woman, understand?”
“Yes, yes, President Jiang. But what should I do next? Please instruct me.”
Jiang Xue curled her lips, her manicured nails brushing through her flowing hair. “Of course, go to Qin Mu and bring your wife back. Remember, if anyone forces you to divorce, never agree without at least ten million.”
Chen Shaojie, eager to please, gave a thumbs-up. “Brilliant! President Jiang, you are truly my benefactor. Chen Shaojie will always follow your lead while alive.”
Jiang Xue held her head high and smiled as she got into the car.
“Hmph, Jiang Li thinks she can compete with me. She’s still inexperienced. Not before, not now. Once I seize the Jiang family conglomerate, the position of lady of the Qin family will be mine without fail.”
Meanwhile, Qin Mu carried Jiang Li into the car, his eyes blazing with fury on the edge of rage.
Seeing Jiang Li curled up at the car’s edge, he gritted his teeth in anger. “Well, Jiang Li, I really underestimated you. Your shamelessness makes me look at you in a new light.”
Jiang Li’s heart pounded. She only wanted to call the police to save her mother and Youyou—why was it so difficult?
If she told Qin Mu that Youyou was ill and needed heart treatment, would he help?
No.
Jiang Li knew Qin Mu’s methods; the small villa she feared was her nightmare.
But now, where was Qin Mu taking her?
“I am a shameless woman. Qin Mu, since we once loved each other, can you just let me go like I’m nothing?”
Yet Jiang Li’s cautious plea only earned Qin Mu’s loathing. “Jiang Li, you caused my father’s death. I didn’t report it, but you will not be spared the retribution you deserve.”
At this moment, Jiang Li’s only concern was the safety of her daughter and mother. “Retribution? How? I’ll give you my life if you just save my daughter with the heart disease.”
Qin Mu gripped Jiang Li’s neck. “You have no right to bargain with me. Whether your and Chen Shaojie’s bastard lives or dies is none of my concern.”
Cold and ruthless, Qin Mu’s icy gaze was fixed ahead. His heartlessness extinguished Jiang Li’s last hope.
“What does President Qin want me to do for atonement?”
Jiang Li asked Qin Mu, memories of past torment vivid in her mind.

Chairman Qin died in a car accident. As the driver, Jiang Li felt deeply guilty.
However, Qin Mu did not call the police then; instead, he locked Jiang Li up in a small villa he had specially bought for her.
The villa was a two-story independent courtyard, formerly used for raising foxes, reeking with a pungent stench. In summer, the mosquito bites made Jiang Li suffer greatly.
Fearing she wouldn’t be punished enough, Qin Mu dug a pond in the courtyard and stocked it with artificial crocodiles.
Knowing Jiang Li’s greatest fear, he was determined to punish her thoroughly, even leaving only some bread and water in the yard as a harsh lesson.
What Qin Mu didn’t know was that, unbeknownst to him, Jiang Xue had released venomous snakes into the villa.
Worried Jiang Li wouldn’t be frightened to death, Jiang Xue also placed a Tibetan mastiff in the courtyard.
For a month, Jiang Xue hoped Jiang Li would die, so she could collect the body.
But Jiang Li’s spirit was unyielding; she survived in this dire environment.
When Qin Mu found her, her mouth was bloodied, her body bitten by the mastiff, yet she was standing, clutching a dagger.
Qin Mu was horrified by the scene. The crocodile pond was littered with Tibetan mastiff fur.
The yard was strewn with snake corpses; even the blood in Jiang Li’s mouth was from the snakes.
Upon seeing Qin Mu, Jiang Li struggled to speak, “Qin Mu, I’m innocent, but it doesn’t matter anymore. I want to die.” Then she fainted.
The hospital’s diagnosis was multiple mastiff bites, snake bites, persistent high fever, and a life-threatening condition.
Fearing Jiang Li’s despair, Qin Mu threatened her, “If you die, your mother won’t survive either. I will make her death even more humiliating.”
Only after Qin Mu, filled with rage, stayed awake for three days and nights to save her was Jiang Li brought back to the Qin family’s old mansion.
Qin Mu made Jiang Li sign a contract, demanding she serve as his maid by day and his lover by night as atonement.
The days of torment made Jiang Li wish for death; she thought of escape constantly. Finally, after three months, an opportunity came.
