Chen Xun
"Gangan, come, come, come."
By the riverside, Guo Jinglin waved at a young woman who was taking a break after finishing a set of photos, a radiant smile on his face.
Chen Che had been busy with his own affairs that morning and hadn't met the two girls yet, though Guo Jinglin had already eaten lunch with them.
Hearing Guo Jinglin's call, the girl looked over alongside the photographer, though she didn't refuse.
As the river breeze blew, Guo Jinglin smiled, leaned closer to the girl, and whispered to Chen Che:
"Her name is Gangan, don't know her full name. Cheer up, losing a lover is no big deal; look around, there are plenty of better babes."
Chen Che paused upon hearing this, then instantly understood the other's intent and couldn't help smiling helplessly.
No wonder Youcai had insisted on dragging him over here.
Although he had a bit of experience shooting this kind of content, there wasn't much to say, and he wasn't one to fuss over such trivial matters.
"You're still the best."
Chen Che lowered his head and whispered.
Guo Jinglin chuckled, lowered his voice, and said:
"Obviously. It didn't work out with the one at the bar last time, but I'll help you with this one."
While the two brothers were whispering to each other, a tall young woman walked over, wearing a cute portable fan and radiating youthful energy.
She was just over one hundred and seventy centimeters tall, dressed in a pink-and-white navel-baring crewneck shortsleeve. It was no exaggeration to say that her muscles seemed to dance as she walked, resembling ripples on the surface of water.
Her upper body wore a cropped t-shirt, and her lower body a short bodycon skirt, both in shades of pink and white—a sweet, spicy, and pure aesthetic.
Her waist-to-hip ratio was perfect, clearly the look of a girl who took care of herself, worked out, and treated her body like a treasure.
A cascade of raven-hued hair reached almost to her waist, and her delicate oval face was adorned with light makeup, her skin as white and flawless as jade.
As Gangan walked, her beautiful eyes lit up.
She sized up Chen Che, who was standing next to Guo Jinglin wearing a shirt and jeans and looking quite proper, a smile overflowing on her face.
When she drew close, Guo Jinglin pulled out a folding fan from his pocket, opened it with a flourish, and fanned Gangan to cool her down:
"Gangan, are you tired?"
"It's alright, just way too hot."
Gangan pouted playfully. Calling it coquettish might not be entirely accurate; perhaps her voice was simply too sweet and soft, naturally carrying a spoiled tone.
Hearing this, Guo Jinglin fanned himself for a moment, then folded the fan and pointed it at Chen Che with a smile as he introduced him:
"It's no use asking me about the sun; this is our boss, and also my good buddy."
"Chen Xun."
Before Guo Jinglin could finish what he clearly wanted to say, Chen Che eagerly blurted out his own name.
Hearing this, Gangan's bright eyes lit up even more. With a delicate and reserved gesture, she used her pretty, slender hand—adorned with nail art—to fan herself coquettishly before pretending she had just noticed Chen Che.
She let out a soft "Oh?"
With a hint of astonishment, she blatantly sized Chen Che up. Beside them, Guo Jinglin scratched his head in confusion and asked:
"What's wrong? Do you guys know each other?"
Chen Che had given a fake name.
Gangan let out another surprised "Oh?"
In Guo Jinglin's eyes, both of them were acting rather strange, not quite like the normal opening act of an ordinary man and woman meeting.
Gangan glanced at the perplexed Guo Jinglin and, with a playful smile and a continued look of wonder, said:
"I don't mean anything by it, but there's a scumbag male protagonist in a movie named Chen Xun. It just feels so magical."
"What movie?"
Chen Che feigned ignorance while knowing the truth.
Seeing him still smiling, Gangan raised both arms, stretched out her fingers, and put on a deeply contemplative expression.
"Fleet of Time."
Guo Jinglin couldn't watch any longer. He slapped his palm with his folding fan and snatched the answer to give the reply.
Gangan nodded in agreement:
"Right, right, Fleet of Time."
"I really haven't seen it. I'll check it out when I have time, but names aren't really that important anyway."
Chen Che said with an indifferent, faint smile.
Hearing this, Gangan looked at him, chuckled into her hand for no apparent reason, her eyes curving into crescents, and said sweetly:
"I don't believe you haven't seen it. Your eyes are telling me you're deliberately lying to me."
"How unjust! You're slapping a label on me the moment we meet."
Chen Che smiled helplessly, then gestured toward Guo Jinglin, tugged slightly at his shirt, and deliberately explained:
"If you don't believe me, ask Old Guo. The two of us have always studied abroad, so we don't know much about domestic movies."
"Ah."
Chen Che and Gangan looked over simultaneously. Guo Jinglin, who had been enjoying the show, froze.
Noticing Chen Che's subtle shirt-tugging gesture, he quickly wiped away his bewildered expression and nodded in agreement:
"Right, we studied abroad."
"Is that so?"
Beaming with smiles, Gangan lowered her hand, looked at Chen Che, pursed her lips cutely, and asked:
"Then it seems I wronged you. You wouldn't be mad at me over something like this, right?"
Hearing this, Chen Che raised his chin and smiled:
"I'm a little angry."
"You're actually angry?"
Gangan said with a hint of grievance, but seeing the relaxed amusement in Chen Che's eyes, she tentatively and softly asked:
"Then if you're angry, how do you want to resolve it?"
Hearing this, Chen Che stepped forward directly, right in front of Guo Jinglin's dumbfounded gaze, and reached his hand toward Gangan's generous chest.
Seeing this, Gangan's pupils constricted slightly, thinking to herself that he surely wouldn't be in such a rush—at least give her a bit of foreplay first.
The next second, Chen Che tapped the small portable fan hanging in front of the girl's full and alluring chest, and said comfortably:
"The solution is very simple: take the promotional merchandise and make yourself look gorgeous in the photos, and give me a legitimate excuse to treat you to dinner. Then this matter will be considered closed."
In an instant, the distance between the two became ambiguous. Gangan felt that if she took a slightly deeper breath, she would brush against him.
Her flushed cheeks grew hot down to her earlobes, and Gangan genuinely felt her heartbeat accelerate.
It was a bodily instinct; her physical form did not resist the possibility of pressing against his chest.
However, with others present, Gangan maintained her reserve, smiled brightly, and tossed her waterfall-like hair.
"As expected of a capitalist, humph."
Gangan used her hand to adjust the fan around her neck, which was still blowing a breeze against her pink cheeks, and complained coquettishly:
"Shooting the video is fine, but I don't know whose terrible idea it was to make me ride a skateboard."
"Him! Him, him, him, him..."
Guo Jinglin recovered his HP, stepped right between the two, and pointed at Chen Che, looking rather agitated.
Hearing this, Gangan deliberately knitted her delicate brows, pouting cutely like she had finally caught him red-handed and was feeling indignant.
Chen Che didn't speak, so Gangan took the initiative:
"So it was you! When you made that request, did you even consider whether I could pull it off?"
Of course, Chen Che had considered it.
The reason he suggested using a skateboard was to convey the label of fashionable youth. A youthful, vibrant beauty riding a skateboard would easily boost the completion rate of the video.
Additionally, wearing a fan while skateboarding would subtly showcase the fan's wide range of utility.
It was an advertisement, after all—it needed an international flair.
However, Gangan was overthinking it; just skating back and forth a bit wasn't about executing high-difficulty moves.
A complete beginner could pick it up in ten minutes at most.
Still, Gangan wasn't genuinely complaining. Seeing Chen Che's wry smile, she put on an air of haughty spoiledness and continued:
"I don't care. Either we scrap this scene, or you take full responsibility and teach me how to skate."
Couldn't the photographer teach her this kind of thing?
Chen Che was the big boss, after all.
How could he possibly do such trivial tasks?
"Actually, I don't know how to skate either, but the two of us can give it a try. Those moves aren't that difficult."
Chen Che said earnestly, looking like a righteous gentleman without any evil intentions, discussing the matter purely on its merits.
Hearing this, Gangan covered her mouth and chuckled softly:
"I hope so. If it's too hard, I won't be able to learn it either. I'm a bit slow, so you'll have to bear with me."
"What a coincidence, I'm not that smart either, but these are all minor details. I refuse to believe the two of us can't conquer a single skateboard."
With a smile, Chen Che finished speaking and added:
"Then I'll go get the skateboard. You go finish shooting the rest of the photos first; it's too hot, let's wrap up early."
Gangan nodded. Before leaving, she cast a coquettish look at Chen Che, and her fair, long legs swayed once more as she walked away.
She left, but Chen Che didn't move in a hurry.
Guo Jinglin, however, could no longer hold it in. He lunged straight at Chen Che as if to tackle him, and after being pushed away in disgust, he said in shock:
"No, bro, did you go for advanced training?!"
Guo Jinglin's shock didn't look faked; in fact, he was genuinely shocked to his core.
From the moment Chen Che uttered the name "Chen Xun," in Youcai's eyes, he seemed like a completely different person.
His movements, expressions, tone, and even his words bore no resemblance to a pathetic guy who had just suffered a breakup; instead, he exuded the effortless poise of someone who had traversed countless blossoms without a leaf sticking to him.
Is this still even my buddy?!
