After a while, Tang Ruan asked, "Can we strike back now?"

The public relations manager nodded, "Anytime!"

Thinking about the upcoming moment to expose the truth, she felt a surge of excitement.

"Good, I'll leave it to you."

The PR manager pounded his chest confidently, "Don't worry, Miss Tang, I will handle it perfectly!"

There was a knock on the door, and Secretary Xiao Lian entered with a troubled expression.

"I'll leave first, Miss Tang," the PR manager took the hint and quietly withdrew.

Only Tang Ruan and Xiao Lian remained in the office. Xiao Lian said, "Miss Tang, Mr. Huo is downstairs. He insists on seeing you today."

Tang Ruan didn't even look up. "No."

"But Mr. Huo said if you don’t see him, he won’t leave."

Tang Ruan paused mid-action. "Have the security escort him out."

Escort him out directly?

"But..."

Her voice turned cold. "No buts. Since he’s shameless, don’t blame us for being rude."

"Understood."

On the first floor of the Tang Corporation building, Huo Yanchuan sat boldly in the reception area, ignoring the curious and scrutinizing glances around him.

He simply refused to believe that after going to such lengths, he still wouldn’t be able to see Tang Ruan today.

When Xiao Lian approached, he calmly stood up and adjusted his jacket. "Let’s go, lead the way."

He had a hundred ways to see Tang Ruan.

Xiao Lian took a deep breath and said to the two security guards, "Please escort Mr. Huo out."

"Yes, ma’am."

The two guards flanked Huo Yanchuan, gripping his arms tightly and escorting him out of the Tang Corporation building.

"Let go of me! Do you know who I am?" he shouted.

"Put me down!"

He trembled with anger, but the guards’ grip was firm; he couldn’t break free. His eyes blazed as he glared at Xiao Lian, threatening, "You must have a death wish, treating me like this! When I see Tang Ruan, I’ll make sure she fires you!"

Xiao Lian replied calmly, "Mr. Huo, it’s Miss Tang’s instruction that I ask you to leave."

"Ask? Is this how you ask?!" Huo Yanchuan roared.

Xiao Lian just rubbed her nose and said nothing.

In the end, Huo Yanchuan was ‘politely’ escorted out of the Tang Corporation building.

To prevent his return, two guards stood firmly on either side of the entrance.

Huo Yanchuan glanced at the guards, then looked up at the building and spat fiercely, "Tang Ruan, just wait!"

One day, he would have Tang Ruan kneeling at his feet, begging for forgiveness.

As dusk gradually fell, Tang Ruan finished all her work and was packing up to go home when her phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, she curled her lips slightly and swiped to answer, "How come you have time—"

Her words were cut off by a weak voice on the other end. "Ruan Ruan..."

Tang Ruan’s expression stiffened, her hand clenched tightly. "Jie Jie, what’s wrong?"

As she asked, she grabbed her car keys and rushed out.

"I... I’m feeling hot and unwell," Lin Jie’s voice was hoarse.

A certain possibility weighed heavily on Tang Ruan’s heart.

"Don’t be afraid. Find a safe place and wait for me. I’m coming right now."

She put the call on speaker, opened the location Lin Jie had sent earlier, and began navigating.

Two hours ago, Lin Jie had sent her a location of a club and a photo of a meal, saying Lin Wen had taken her to a banquet. If successful, they could secure a significant order.

With this order, Lin Corporation wouldn’t just rise from the dead; at the very least, it could survive another two to three months.

Those two to three months might just be enough for Lin Corporation to turn things around.

Tang Ruan hadn’t initially approved of Lin Jie, a young woman, attending such banquets, but since Lin Wen, her brother, was accompanying her, she thought nothing would go wrong.

But she hadn’t expected this!

Tang Ruan pulled out a backup phone and, during a red light, called Lin Wen.

No answer.

She called again.

Still no answer.

She frowned deeply and slammed her palm on the steering wheel.

She drove swiftly, heading straight to the club’s main entrance.

When she opened the car door to get out, her legs weakened, nearly causing her to fall.

"Miss, you can’t park here," a security guard approached and pointed not far away, "The parking lot is over there."

Tang Ruan stuffed her car keys and a wad of cash into the guard’s arms. "I have some business here. Please park my car. Keep the money as a tip."

Before the guard could react, she hurried inside.

Time was money, and more importantly, she couldn’t afford the consequences of being late.

Before entering, she was stopped by the doorman, who was polite but distant. "Miss, this is a private club. Only members are allowed inside."

The implication was clear: non-members like Tang Ruan were not permitted.

"How does one become a member here?"

The doorman smiled faintly. "You need to show proof of assets of five million, plus a recommendation from an existing member."

The asset verification was easy for Tang Ruan, but the member recommendation...

"Is Tang Corporation’s Mr. Tang one of your members?"

The doorman was momentarily stunned but then looked at her with contempt. "Of course Mr. Tang is a member here."

Almost every wealthy person of standing in Nancheng was a member of this club.

"I know him."

The doorman smiled, "Miss, who in Nancheng doesn’t know Mr. Tang?"

He knew Mr. Tang and had even met him a few times, but did Mr. Tang know him? No.

"I am—"

"Tang Ruan!"

Huo Yanchuan appeared from inside, standing at the entrance with keen interest. "I thought you wouldn’t want to come to a place like this?"

A while ago, on a whim, he had asked Tang Ruan to accompany him to a banquet. To his surprise, she refused without hesitation.

He invited her, and she outright declined.

Now, why was she here? To see whom?

An affair partner?

Thinking this, his tone involuntarily grew angry. "Who are you here to see?"

Tang Ruan ignored him and asked the doorman, "Did you hear what he called me?"

The doorman, slightly puzzled, nodded.

He was not deaf; of course, he had heard Mr. Huo call her by name.

He hadn’t expected her to know Mr. Huo.

Huo Yanchuan was annoyed to be ignored publicly and lost his temper, "Tang Ruan! How dare you—"

"Shut up!" Tang Ruan interrupted sharply.

"My surname is Tang—the same Tang as the Mr. Tang you mentioned."

The doorman was stunned for two seconds, then his legs went weak. "Miss Tang..."

The woman before him was actually Mr. Tang’s daughter!

"Can I come in now?"

"Of course!" The doorman quickly stepped aside.

Huo Yanchuan, completely out of patience, reached out to grab Tang Ruan. "Tang Ruan, you—"

But Tang Ruan strode past him and entered the club.

"Jie Jie, where are you?"

"I’m... in the bathroom at the end of the second floor."

In the background, there was the sound of a door being pounded and voices urging.

"Miss Lin, are you alright? Miss Lin..."

"Jie Jie, don’t be afraid. I’m coming right now!"

Finding the stairs, Tang Ruan climbed swiftly.

She was grateful for wearing flats today instead of heels.

Passing the stairwell, she noticed an umbrella stand in the corner and grabbed a long-handled umbrella.

Huo Yanchuan pondered for a moment, then followed close behind.

He wanted to see exactly who Tang Ruan had come here to meet!
