Chapter 31: Spit the Shit Out of Your Mouth?

When Lin Nan and Li Qin heard this and saw the unwilling expression on Zhuo Yuhao’s face, they both secretly smiled.
The poor man had just endured an inhuman amount of pain and was now facing a breakup with Ji Zifeng. He was probably miserable beyond words.
“Your lower body is badly swollen and red. I’ll prescribe some anti-inflammatory medicine for you. Once you get home, apply it three times a day, morning and evening, for an entire week,” Lin Nan said seriously, suppressing his laughter.
Because Zhuo Yuhao’s condition had been more severe than Ji Zifeng’s, Lin Nan had needed to use greater force during the treatment. Inevitably, this had left his lower body swollen and red.
Ji Zifeng’s condition had been milder, so after all the table-tennis balls were removed, he was more or less back to normal.
Seeing that Zhuo Yuhao’s lower body was swollen like a monkey’s backside, Li Qin and Jiang Yuan also struggled to hold back their laughter.
“I understand,” Zhuo Yuhao replied casually, though the resentment on his face had not faded.
Then, as if he had thought of something else, he asked with a troubled expression, “Doctor, I’m swollen so badly down there that even the slightest touch feels unbearably painful. How am I supposed to take a crap?”
He had to use that part of his body to pass stool, but doing so would inevitably cause him to touch the swollen area. He would also have to wipe himself afterward. The pain would surely be enough to make him wish he were dead.
“If you intend to eliminate the feces in your body by defecating, then there’s no other way. You’ll just have to endure the pain and force it out,” Lin Nan said.
Zhuo Yuhao caught the hidden meaning in his words and hurriedly asked, “Is there another way to get the feces out of my body?”
Jiang Yuan said with a perfectly straight face, “If your only goal is to expel the feces from your body, then besides passing it from below, you can also vomit it out.”
“Vomit it out? Through my mouth?” Zhuo Yuhao stared blankly.
“That’s right.” Jiang Yuan nodded.
Zhuo Yuhao looked at him strangely. “You can actually vomit feces through your mouth?”
“In theory, yes.” Jiang Yuan continued, “All you have to do is suppress the urge to defecate for several days. Once enough feces have accumulated in your body, they’ll be unable to pass through the usual route, so they’ll have no choice but to come out through your mouth.”
“That way, you can avoid the pain.”
Zhuo Yuhao listened in stunned disbelief, his eyes nearly bulging from their sockets.
He had never imagined that feces could actually be vomited through the mouth!
After thinking it over, he finally shook his head helplessly.
Although expelling feces through his mouth would spare him the pain, he simply could not overcome that psychological barrier.
Forget it. A little pain was still pain. He would endure it, and eventually it would pass.

“Any other problems?” Li Qin asked with a smile.
Zhuo Yuhao shook his head.
“If you don’t have any other complaints, you can leave.” Lin Nan took out a pen and paper from the desk and quickly wrote down the name of a medicine. Then he handed the paper to Zhuo Yuhao. “This is the medicine I’ve prescribed to reduce the swelling. Just take the prescription to the pharmacy.”
Zhuo Yuhao accepted it and then left the consultation room, shuffling awkwardly with his buttocks clenched together.
“Hopefully, after this lesson, he’ll turn over a new leaf and stop preying on innocent male college students,” Li Qin said with a shake of his head.
“Hopefully,” Jiang Yuan agreed with a nod.
“I’m not so optimistic,” Lin Nan said. “If he were still a child who didn’t know any better, there might be a chance of correcting him. But he’s already an adult. He knows perfectly well what he’s doing and understands the harm it can cause. Getting him to change isn’t impossible, but it will be extremely difficult.”
“Once he recovers, there’s a good chance he’ll go right back to hurting other people.”
Li Qin and Jiang Yuan both nodded inwardly when they heard this. They felt Lin Nan’s reasoning made sense.
Mountains and rivers may be changed with ease, but a person’s nature is difficult to alter. Many people never truly learn from their mistakes.
Lin Nan glanced at his two companions and smiled. “You’re both tired today. Go home and get some rest.”
“Now that you mention it, I really am a little tired.” Li Qin stretched both arms. “I’m not on duty tonight, so I’ll head home first.”
Jiang Yuan said to Lin Nan, “You’ve worked hard these past few days too. Go home and rest. I’ll take the night shift.”
Lin Nan smiled and nodded. “All right. I’ll head home and rest as well.”
On his way to the changing room, he called Ji Guoping.
Ji Guoping was a traffic police officer and normally stayed up late anyway. Since it was still the New Year holiday, he was probably up even later than usual, so Lin Nan was not worried about disturbing him.
Sure enough, Ji Guoping answered after the phone rang three times.
“Doctor Lin, is something wrong?” Ji Guoping asked in a gentle tone.
“Are you free tomorrow afternoon? I’d like to schedule your surgery for then,” Lin Nan said.
“I’m free tomorrow afternoon.” Ji Guoping laughed. “I’d also like to get the surgery over with as soon as possible so I can recover sooner.”
“Good. Then let’s set it for two o’clock tomorrow afternoon. Is that all right?”
“Of course.”

Lin Nan then explained the precautions Ji Guoping would need to observe before the surgery.
“Understood. I’ll follow your instructions to the letter,” Ji Guoping replied cheerfully.
“Good.” Lin Nan smiled faintly. “Then I’ll see you tomorrow afternoon.”
With that, he hung up.
At eight-thirty the next morning, Lin Nan arrived at the hospital.
After changing into his white coat, he had barely stepped into the office when Xiao Li came in behind him.
“Doctor Lin, the patient named Liu Jialiang woke up at seven this morning. He told me to ask you to go to his room as soon as you arrived at the hospital,” Xiao Li said.
Lin Nan frowned slightly. “What happened? Has his condition worsened?”
“That doesn’t seem right. Normally, after the surgery I performed, he shouldn’t have any problems as long as he rests properly.”
“Judging from his reaction and expression, it doesn’t look as though anything is wrong with his body,” Xiao Li said, shaking her head.
“All right. I’ll go see him. You carry on with your work.”
Lin Nan nodded, then headed toward the VIP ward.
Liu Jialiang’s family was well-off, so he had been placed in a VIP room with better facilities.
When Lin Nan entered the room, he saw Liu Jiamin peeling an apple for her younger brother.
Liu Jialiang was lying lazily on the hospital bed, looking somewhat bored.
As soon as he saw Lin Nan enter, the lethargy in his eyes vanished. He immediately brightened and smiled.
“Doctor Lin, you’re here!”
When Liu Jiamin saw Lin Nan, she quickly set down the apple and knife, then welcomed him inside with a radiant smile.
“Doctor Lin.”
Lin Nan nodded, then looked at Liu Jialiang with a smile. “You look like you’re in very good shape.”
Liu Jialiang was filled with gratitude. “Doctor Lin, I truly can’t thank you enough. Without you, I probably would have had to give up my basketball career. If that had happened, I would have regretted it for the rest of my life.”
“You could say that you saved my dream!”
