Chapter 147: They Are All Animals!
Only by seeing Mo Han die with his own eyes would Li Xianwu find peace; only then would he consider his son’s vengeance satisfied. For this, he would not hesitate even if it meant sacrificing the entire Li Corporation.
"Very well, I accept your terms." Li Xianren nodded, his gaze sharp. "But understand this: do not bring up any more conditions with me in the future. You have no right to negotiate with me!"
"This is my only condition. I just want Mo Han dead. As long as Li Xiande’s family is ruined, I have no other requests," Li Xianwu stammered, shaking his head. Li Xianren’s eyes filled him with dread.
Li Xianren’s eyelids twitched as he sneered, "That henpecked loser managed to take the pharmaceutical factory right out of your hands. You and your son truly are becoming more pathetic by the day."
Li Xianwu’s face burned with embarrassment. "It was all that Mo Han. The brat is ruthless; we were blindsided by him."
"Ruthless?" Li Xianren mocked. "Is he more ruthless than me?"
Li Xianwu shook his head quickly. "Of course, that brat cannot compare to you, Brother Ren."
Li Xianren smiled, brimming with pride. He turned to a large man beside him and said, "Tell Annie to bring the contract."
Once the contract was signed tonight, the entire Li Corporation would belong to him. Having reigned supreme in the underground circles of Chuandu for years with no rivals left, he saw the Li Corporation as the perfect springboard to aggressively enter the underground world of Qiancheng. He had long heard of Master Wu and Ba Dao and felt it was time to pay them a visit. Of course, had he known that both Master Wu and Ba Dao had already become subordinates of Mo Han, he might have reconsidered his ambitions.
The contract arrived shortly. Li Xianwu read it carefully, cursing inwardly; Li Xianren’s terms were nothing short of robbery. Twenty million, seizing even his personal residence, and on top of that, an installment plan—it was pure extortion. But he had no choice and signed it with a heavy heart.
Li Xianren patted Li Xianwu on the shoulder and chuckled triumphantly. "Over the years, you and your son have used every dirty trick in the book for the sake of the Li Corporation. You’ve committed your fair share of illicit acts. Once you get the money, go and enjoy your retirement. Twenty million is enough for your family to live comfortably."
Li Xianwu felt like vomiting blood. The Li Corporation, worth hundreds of millions, sold for a mere twenty million on an installment plan—Li Xianren’s heart was truly pitch black. Yet, thinking of the pharmaceutical factory’s booming success while his own family’s legacy crumbled, he felt a bitter resentment. He wanted not only Mo Han’s death but for Li Xiande’s family to end up as beggars on the street. Whether it was the factory or the corporation, if he couldn't live well, he wouldn't let them have a moment of peace either.
The next day, Li Xianren transferred the first ten million to Li Xianwu, with the remainder to be paid a year later. Li Xianren personally oversaw the entire handover process. He was thrilled. With the Li Corporation in his hands, he could not only slap Li Zhendong in the face but also use it as a launchpad to infiltrate the Qiancheng underground.
"Who are you people?" At the Li family villa, Li Zhendong was doing his morning exercises in the courtyard when he saw several burly men storm in. He frowned and scolded them.
"Father, I didn't realize that as you aged, not only did your memory fail, but your judgment did too," Li Xianren said as he walked in from behind.
"It’s you. What are you doing here?" Li Zhendong’s expression changed the moment he saw Li Xianren; a dark premonition washed over him.
"This villa belongs to me now. What do you think I’m here for?" Li Xianren remarked with a smirk.
"Yours?" Li Zhendong’s face paled. He had heard that Li Xianren had been doing well for himself lately, and a terrible realization began to dawn on him.
"Take a look. Your own biological son transferred the entire Li Corporation to me last night." Li Xianren tossed a contract at him.
Li Zhendong picked it up, his heart turning to ice as he read, his blood boiling with every word.
"Pfft!" A sweet, metallic taste filled Li Zhendong’s throat, and he spat out a mouthful of blood. His face turned ghastly.
"You beast! You are all beasts!" Li Zhendong trembled with rage. In his life, he had two biological sons and two adopted sons. Aside from the second son who died young, they were all parasites feeding on his blood. His adopted sons had spent their lives plotting to seize his assets, and his own biological son, Li Xianwu, had sold them all off for a pittance, even selling the very roof over his head. How could he not be devastated?
"Father, do you remember how you kicked me out all those years ago?" Li Xianren looked at him with mockery. "But don't worry. Although you are an old brute, you did raise me. I won't drive you to ruin. There is one million in this card; consider it for your old age and funeral expenses." He tossed a bank card at Li Zhendong.
Li Zhendong shook with fury, refusing to even look at the card. A cold sneer played on Li Xianren’s lips as he waved a hand, and his men stepped forward to drag Li Zhendong toward the gate.
"You beasts! You will come to a wretched end!" Li Zhendong cursed, but no one paid him any mind.
"Old beast, no matter how I die, I’ll at least die after you," Li Xianren muttered under his breath.
"Brother Ren, the only thing left to settle is the Li Pharmaceutical Factory," said Zhou Hua, one of his henchmen.
"Right. Take a few men and go secure it." Li Xianren nodded and headed toward the villa. He had lived here once before, and now that he had reclaimed it, he wanted to see his old room.
"Understood." Zhou Hua nodded and led his men out.
...
After returning from Xiuwen, Mo Han and Li An’an returned to their normal routines. Li Xiande was primarily in charge of the old factory project, while Li An’an focused on the new one. Watching her work herself to the bone for the new facility, Mo Han felt a pang of heartache. He had urged her many times to rest, but Li An’an was a natural workaholic, especially now that the company was in its initial phase of explosive growth. She didn't want to slack off for even a moment.
Mo Han couldn't stop her. Everyone had their own dreams, and everyone had the right to strive for them. He couldn't overstep. All he could do was stand by her side and help manage the new factory. The construction was nearly complete, and production of the new medicine was set to begin within days. Mo Han had to prepare the formula.
"Keep up the good work. The company will not treat you unfairly. At Li Pharmaceutical Factory, your compensation is at least thirty percent higher than in any other industry. As long as everyone works hard, I guarantee you will all be satisfied with the rewards," Li An’an said during a meeting, taking the opportunity to instill the company’s philosophy and boost morale.
These were not empty words; the employees had indeed seen substantial increases in their income. Every time she spoke, she moved them deeply. Many employees clenched their fists in private, vowing not to let President Li or the company down.
"President Li, there are some people outside who say they are here to take over," Secretary Ma Jiaojiao said, running in with a distressed expression.
