Upon hearing Li Xiande’s words, Mo Han relaxed his clenched fists. To be honest, he wanted to kill Li Xianren right then and there, but he did not want his family to witness such a brutal scene.

"Take him to the training grounds and lock him up. Find a doctor to patch him up," Mo Han told Li Qilang, who stood nearby.

Since Li Xianren was the king of the Chu City underworld, Mo Han figured he might as well extort some money from him before finishing him off. A king of a major city’s underworld surely had plenty of assets.

"Understood," Li Qilang replied. He signaled to two security guards, and they carried Li Xianren and a few other thugs into a vehicle and drove off.

Watching Li Xianren being taken away, Li Xiande’s expression remained grim.

"Why are you so foolish? If Mo Han hadn't returned in time, would he have let us off today?" Xu Fang said with a pout, looking quite displeased. Although she didn’t want Mo Han to kill anyone, Li Xianren had gone too far—he had even tried to seize their villa. That was a deep wound for her. She still remembered the humiliation of being driven out of their old family home, and she wouldn't even have a place to stay if not for the villa that Master Ding Si had gifted Mo Han.

Li Xiande simply shook his head and remained silent.

Li An’an, however, said angrily, "Why? Why does everyone have to bully our family!" Thinking of the constant harassment by the Li family, she wondered if she could have endured it all without Mo Han. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.

"Because in their eyes, we are not yet powerful enough," Mo Han said. "Once you become powerful enough, no one will dare to bully you again."

Li An’an nodded firmly, clenching her fist. "I will become powerful. I will turn our pharmaceutical factory into the biggest one in the country—in the world! Tomorrow, I’m going to the Bureau of Industry and Commerce to file for a name change. I want to remove the 'Li' name entirely! From now on, the factory will have nothing to do with the Li family!"

Mo Han nodded in approval. He had suggested this before, but Li An’an had felt it might be inappropriate and kept the name. Today, seeing Li Xiande plead for Li Xianren’s life, Mo Han knew that both of them had finally awakened. They no longer held any hope for the Li family. Li Xiande felt the same; having repaid his debt to Li Zhendong for his upbringing, he had no more expectations.

The Li family would become a thing of the past for them.

...

The next day, Mo Han went to the security company. In the underground training room, he found Li Xianren lying on a steel cot, his face ashen. Although the doctor had managed to save his life, he was destined to be a cripple for the rest of his days. Seeing Mo Han enter, Li Xianren’s eyes flickered with fear, though resentment dominated his expression.

"Transfer all your money to this card," Mo Han said, bypassing any small talk as he threw his bank card onto Li Xianren. He had left one of Li Xianren’s hands intact, knowing he would need it to process the transfers.

Li Xianren’s face turned pale. However, seeing the cold indifference in Mo Han’s eyes, he knew that if he didn't comply, Mo Han would kill him. He might be a cripple, but he didn't want to die.

"I have only one request. You can have all my money, and you can even take all my properties in Chu City. I only ask that you hire someone to take care of me long-term. Don’t worry, the balance in my account alone exceeds one billion; hiring a caregiver won’t cost you much," Li Xianren said with a dark expression.

"Fine," Mo Han agreed readily. Since Li Xiande didn't want him dead, he would spare his life.

"A powerhouse like you is a man of his word. I trust you," Li Xianren said, pulling out his phone to transfer the funds. He hadn't lied; there was indeed 1.1 billion in his account, and he transferred it all to Mo Han.

"Take him to Chu City," Mo Han said to Xu Jing.

"Mo Han, what are you doing?" Li Xianren’s face changed, and he grew panicked. If Mo Han sent him to Chu City, would he survive?

"Don't worry, it’s just for the transfer of assets. I won’t go back on my word," Mo Han said, walking out.

Li Xianren breathed a sigh of relief. As Xu Jing gestured, two men lifted Li Xianren and followed them out. Mo Han also brought along a few lawyers from the legal department. Since Li Xianren was the king of the Chu City underworld, he certainly had many assets, both legitimate and illicit—all of which were tools for his money laundering. There was no way Mo Han would let them go.

The drive from Qian City to Chu City was fast, taking just over two hours on the highway. Li Xianren indeed had many assets: one major legitimate corporation and a web of underground casinos, bars, and clubs. However, he had many subordinates, and once they heard he had been crippled, they had no intention of obeying him anymore; they were already preparing to carve up his empire.

Mo Han couldn't be bothered to negotiate with them one by one, so he had Li Xianren summon them all. Li Xianren knew they wouldn't respect him anymore, but he spread the word that he had been crippled and intended to personally select a successor to take over his assets. Though skeptical, the subordinates were driven by greed, each hoping to be the one chosen to seize power.

They arrived at the headquarters, each harboring their own hidden agenda. Seeing Li Xianren lying in a wheelchair, a broken man, the fear and respect they once held for him vanished.

"Brother Ren, which bastard did this to you? Tell your brothers, and we’ll definitely go and get revenge for you!" they clamored, jostling to express their "loyalty," completely ignoring Mo Han and his group.

Li Xianren didn't speak. He had brought them here; how they were dealt with was now Mo Han’s business.

Mo Han gestured, and Xu Jing and his men immediately moved in, pinning down the various underworld bosses who had come to scavenge Li Xianren’s empire. Only then did fear appear in their eyes, as they realized this was a trap.

"Hand over all the assets you hold, or die!" Mo Han commanded, looking down at the seven or eight bosses held by Xu Jing.

"Who are you? Do you know what you're doing?" one boss glared at Mo Han.

"Slap!" Xu Jing struck the man across the face, growling, "Is it your place to ask questions?"

"Break his legs first," Mo Han said coldly. He had never had any fondness for these underworld types.

"You dare... Ah!" Before the man could finish, Xu Jing kicked his shins twice, the crisp sound of snapping bones echoing through the room.

Seeing Mo Han’s ruthlessness, the others were struck with terror.

"I will say it again: hand over all your assets, or Li Xianren’s fate will be yours!" Mo Han stared at them with icy eyes. The men shivered, finally realizing that it was this young man who had crippled Li Xianren. Seeing Mo Han’s cold gaze and the pathetic state of Li Xianren, no one dared to resist any longer.
