Chapter 47: We Must Find Mo Han!
Li Bing was currently in high spirits. Not only had he reclaimed the pharmaceutical factory, but his grandfather had also put him directly in charge of it, paving the way for him to take over as head of the family in the future.
Most importantly, today he had a sudden inspiration and sent Li An’an to Qin Haoran. With the powerful Qin family backing them, there were few forces left in Qiancheng who would dare target the Li family.
He could already envision the Li Corporation, under his leadership, thriving and reigning supreme in the coming years.
“President Li, something’s wrong—there’s a large group of people forcing their way in!”
At that moment, Li Bing’s secretary rushed in, her voice anxious.
“Did you ask them what they want?” Li Bing frowned.
“They’re all holding steel pipes. They look like gangsters,” the secretary replied.
“Get security to stop them… No, you go check for yourself.” Li Bing walked out as he spoke.
Now, with the Qin family as their backer, Li Bing felt emboldened.
But as he descended from his second-floor office and saw a dark mass of hundreds of people flooding into the office area, his expression changed dramatically.
Were these the city’s criminal underworld coming to cause trouble?
He looked around in alarm and, seeing not a single security guard in sight, panic gripped him.
“Brothers, I’m friends with Qin Haoran!” Li Bing tried to use Qin Haoran’s well-known name in Qiancheng to intimidate the intruders.
“Beat him!” the burly leader shouted, charging at Li Bing.
Terrified, Li Bing’s legs gave out beneath him. Fear overwhelmed him so much he could not run; his body simply refused to obey.
Half an hour later, many staff members who hadn’t escaped quickly enough were beaten, and the entire office area was reduced to rubble.
“Boss Biao, we didn’t find that security guard called Mo Han,” Ergou reported to Xu Biao.
Ergou had been forced by Mo Han to work in the factory. Xu Biao and his men had released him and the others, smashed up the factory for good measure, and only then moved on to the office area.
“But this guy is the boss here,” Ergou added, pointing to Li Bing, whose legs had already been broken.
Xu Biao’s eyes flashed with malice as he looked at the pale, suffering Li Bing. “Did your Li family grow bold enough to challenge me?”
“Boss, you must have the wrong people. We wouldn’t dare cross you!” Li Bing protested miserably, feeling utterly wronged.
“Still trying to deny it? Two hundred of our brothers were detained by you and forced to work for free!” Ergou shouted, kicking Li Bing.
“One hundred million in compensation. Transfer it, or I’ll smash every last Li family business today,” Xu Biao said coldly, having no patience for further argument.
Li Bing trembled. That was daylight robbery. But he dared not refuse.
“I need to call my father. I don’t have that much money,” he pleaded.
“Hurry up!” Ergou kicked him again.
Lying on the ground, Li Bing fumbled for his phone and called his father, Li Xianwu.
When Li Xianwu received the call, he was devastated. They had just reclaimed the pharmaceutical factory, and now the criminal underworld was extorting them for a hundred million—it was enough to kill them.
The Li family’s business had not been doing well lately, running at a loss. The company’s account had nowhere near enough cash to cover a hundred million.
Li Xianwu immediately reported the situation to Li Zhendong.
Learning that the perpetrator was Xu Biao, Li Zhendong was shaken to his core. He dared not defy Xu Biao in the slightest.
In the end, he had to grit his teeth and sell off shares and other assets at a loss to scrape together the funds.
More than an hour later, the Li family finally managed to transfer a hundred million to Xu Biao’s account, bowing and apologizing the whole time.
“If you don’t deliver Mo Han and Li An’an to the Sakura Club by tomorrow, your Li family will suffer the same fate!” Xu Biao threatened, then left with his men.
“Damn it, Mo Han—they were after Mo Han and Li An’an!”
Only now did Li Bing and the others realize they had taken the fall for Mo Han and Li An’an.
“Damn it! We just took back the pharmaceutical factory today—how could we have offended Boss Xu?” Li Xianwu’s face was ashen.
“Dad, Grandpa, hurry and capture Mo Han and Li An’an and send them to the Sakura Club. By the way, Li An’an is with Qin Haoran. I don’t know if Qin Haoran will let her return today.” Li Bing spoke through gritted teeth, enduring the pain.
Li Xianwu looked at Li Bing, feeling a pang of sympathy. He turned to the bodyguards. “Take him to the hospital first.”
After the bodyguards took Li Bing away, Li Xianwu called his wife, asking her to go to the hospital to look after him.
Nearby, Li Zhendong stood with a dark, inscrutable expression.
“Dad, what do we do now? Li Bing already drove their whole family out of the old house. Where are we supposed to find them?” Li Xianwu asked.
Xu Biao was the most powerful figure in Qiancheng’s underworld. Few dared cross him, not even the Qin family would risk open conflict.
The Li family stood no chance.
If they confronted Xu Biao, it would be a disaster.
Li Zhendong looked at Li Xianwu as if he were an idiot, his face grim.
Li Xianwu shuddered and finally understood. He took out his phone and asked his wife to contact Xu Fang, remembering she had her number.
“No matter what means you use, you must find Mo Han today and send him to the Sakura Club. As for Li An’an, since she’s with Qin Haoran, we’ll just tell Xu Biao the truth—our Li family can’t afford to offend the Qin family,” Li Zhendong said coldly.
“Alright, I understand!” Li Xianwu replied quickly. He had always feared Li Zhendong, and that hadn’t changed.
A few minutes later, Li Zhendong received a call from his wife, who told him Xu Fang’s family had just moved into the best villa in Wangtian Peak.
“They were just driven out—how did they end up in the Wangtian Peak villa district? Are they planning to buy a villa there?” Li Xianwu wondered aloud after hanging up, though even he didn’t really believe it.
Li Zhendong frowned as well. As far as he knew, Li Xiande’s family didn’t have any powerful connections, and the hundred million he had been forced to transfer because of Mo Han had all gone to the victims. How could they possibly afford a villa? Buying an ordinary home would be difficult enough.
“Let’s find them first, then ask where Mo Han is,” Li Zhendong said.
“Alright.”
Li Xianwu nodded, gathered a few bodyguards, and set off for Wangtian Peak.
