The two soldiers before him were certainly unpleasant, yet their strength had reached the level of tenth-tier fighters. Such power, even compared to Su Yi’s current state, was not vastly inferior. Su Yi’s physical strength had now attained the peak of a first-rank magical beast; perhaps he was slightly stronger than a tenth-tier peak fighter, but not by much. And here he was facing two tenth-tier fighters simultaneously.

Fortunately, Su Yi judged that it was unlikely they possessed any advanced spirit-tier combat techniques. Such techniques were not easily cultivated; even the Auban family’s most profound techniques were only low-level spirit-tier. It was already remarkable for two ordinary soldiers to have cultivated fighting spirit at all. Su Yi could hardly believe they had access to such high-level skills.

As long as the opponents lacked high-tier combat techniques, Su Yi had little reason to fear. If he struck with the full force of his peak first-rank magical beast strength, the impact would surpass the potency of the spirit ice strike he had once wielded as a tenth-tier fighter. Even if they had mastered the widely circulated yellow-tier combat skills on the continent, Su Yi still held a great chance of victory.

Calculating this silently, Su Yi raised his head to look at the two soldiers, frowning slightly as he spoke slowly, “Do you mean what you say? If I repel you with one strike, I may enter?”

His words momentarily stunned the two soldiers, then they burst into mocking laughter. One sneered disdainfully, “Of course. If you can manage that, the two of us will naturally step aside... but that’s absolutely impossible!”

To them, Su Yi appeared merely a frail youth with a sickly complexion and no visible fighting spirit. With their strength, even a peak tenth-tier fighter could not repel them with a single strike—let alone Su Yi.

Even if Su Yi possessed fighting spirit, they assumed he was only a first or second-tier fighter at best, given he was only eighteen years old. Becoming a fighter at eighteen was already a notable talent; a tenth-tier fighter at that age would be an anomaly.

They did not believe this ordinary, pale-skinned youth possessed such talent or strength. Su Yi merely chuckled coldly inside, refusing to retort. In a way, their underestimation was his greatest advantage.

Nearby, the auction house guards who knew of Su Yi’s abilities said nothing, only glancing at the soldiers with a cold sneer. They did not know whether Su Yi could succeed, but they were certain these soldiers would be embarrassed.

“Very well, then I shall begin.”

Su Yi’s calm voice fell as he stomped his foot hard. Using the tremendous recoil, he suddenly lunged to the front of the two soldiers. His fists, like venomous snakes striking, flashed forth with lightning speed, already aimed at their chests in an instant.

The pair’s fists thundered forward, cutting through the air with a fierce wind and low, grating sounds. Feeling the overwhelming force rushing toward them, the soldiers’ faces, once full of disdain, finally changed in alarm.

Such a powerful gust made breathing difficult before even reaching them! This terrifying strength, if received unprepared, would surely cause serious injury. They had not expected this seemingly ordinary youth to unleash such force suddenly.

Even stranger, they detected no fighting spirit aura at all.

With no time to dodge or counterattack due to their complacency, a flicker of panic appeared in their eyes. Gritting their teeth, they shouted and instantly gathered their fighting spirit at their chests, holding their spears firmly before them.

“Bang!”

A muffled, heavy sound echoed as Su Yi’s fists slammed hard against the soldiers’ spears.

“Crash!”

The two figures were instantly flung backward, crashing heavily onto the ground and kicking up clouds of dust. After a moment, the dust settled, and they struggled to their feet, pale and with faint traces of blood at the corners of their mouths. Their hands gripping the spears trembled slightly, bloodied from the strain. The spears themselves were bent and misshapen.

The soldiers looked at Su Yi with dazed and fearful expressions.

Thanks to their fighting spirit shields and the spears absorbing some of the impact, their injuries were not severe, but their shock was immense. That single strike had terrified them to the core, raising their hackles. If not for luck, it might have crippled them. The power to shatter their ten-layer fighting spirit barrier was real, no doubt—a combat strength at least equivalent to a tenth-tier fighter.

Their expressions grew complicated. They had never expected such a talent in this remote Changling City. At this rate, breaking through to become a fighter within twenty years and evolving into a Douluo or even Doulong by thirty was entirely possible.

Such a prodigy would be highly valued even at the Imperial Academy. It was unfortunate to have encountered him like this.

Seeing the two soldiers dumbfounded as if they had seen a ghost, the auction house guards nearby smirked inwardly. Su Yi snorted softly, then strode forward. Casting a glance at the pale-faced duo, he said calmly, “Now may I enter?”

“You—!” One soldier’s face darkened, about to erupt in fury. He had never suffered such a loss before and might not have been defeated if fully prepared.

But before he could act, the other soldier motioned to stop him. “Wait. The Captain is busy. If he finds out we fought someone here privately, no matter the outcome, we’ll be punished.”

At the mention of punishment, the first soldier shuddered, immediately retracting his attack. He nodded, still disgruntled, and shot Su Yi a hard look. “Fine... with the Captain around, he can’t cause much trouble.”

Seeing this, Su Yi ignored them and moved swiftly toward Maya’s residence. After some time, he spotted the large house where Maya lived. As he neared, he saw soldiers forming a circle outside, blocking some auction house personnel from entering. Among the crowd were familiar faces like Duan Shi and Di Yuan.

“Duan Shi!” Su Yi called out as he approached.

Hearing the voice, Duan Shi looked toward it and brightened upon seeing Su Yi, hurrying over. Many in the crowd also noticed Su Yi’s arrival, their expressions varied. Di Yuan’s was the most complex. His right arm had mostly healed but was still useless—rendered a useless limb by Su Yi.

Another blow to Di Yuan’s pride was Maya’s sudden display of power—completely worlds apart from him. Remembering his past foolish fantasies about Maya, Di Yuan’s heart churned with bitterness.

Ignoring Di Yuan’s thoughts, Su Yi—his voice edged with urgency—asked Duan Shi, “What’s going on? Maya’s place is surrounded; it doesn’t look good.”

“I’m not entirely sure,” Duan Shi replied anxiously. “Not long ago, some people claiming to be from the Jiang family forced their way into the auction house. One called Lou Jun led them straight here to find Miss Maya. The soldiers are blocking us from entering, so we don’t know how Miss Maya is.”

Duan Shi, as head of the guards, was responsible for protecting Maya, yet he was held back far outside. He had considered breaking through but dared not. The Jiang family’s men were formidable, and these soldiers were no ordinary fighters—their strength matched his own or better. Attempting a forced entry was impossible.

“By the way, Captain Yuan is at the front. You should ask him,” Duan Shi suddenly remembered and suggested.

Captain Yuan was here? Su Yi was slightly surprised but parted with Duan Shi and pushed through the crowd to the front. Sure enough, he found Captain Yuan standing there and greeted him.

Captain Yuan turned at the sound and sighed slightly. “You’re here too.”

“Captain Yuan, what’s going on? Why would the Jiang family come looking for Miss Maya? Are they here to capture her?” Su Yi asked quickly. As a senior figure in the auction house and a Douluo, Captain Yuan should know much.

“Uh... I don’t think it’s quite that serious yet,” Captain Yuan replied hesitantly.

Noticing Captain Yuan’s uncertainty, Su Yi grew anxious. “No matter what, Miss Maya is part of the auction house and comes from the Yuximan family. As Yuximan property, the auction house shouldn’t just stand by. Even if they’re Jiang family members, the Yuximan family won’t allow themselves to be pushed around, right?”

Captain Yuan’s eyes suddenly flickered with a strange expression as he murmured, gazing at Maya’s house, “About Miss Maya... actually, this isn’t something we can intervene in...”
