“Out of control? What does that mean?” In his anxiety, Su Yi didn’t ponder whether there was some hidden meaning behind the words. Instead, with a hint of dissatisfaction, he said, “If the auction house doesn’t want to intervene, then I’ll intervene myself!”

Upon hearing this, Captain Yuan sighed and glanced at Su Yi, shaking his head slightly. “But with your current strength, what can you do even if you go? Lou Jun is a Dragon Warrior; you simply can’t stop him!”

A Dragon Warrior?! Su Yi’s heart jolted. Even the strongest figures among the major families in Changling City were only peak level six Soul Masters. None had broken through to the seventh level to become Dragon Warriors. That’s why the power of a Dragon Warrior loomed over everyone in the city like a towering mountain.

Suddenly, Su Yi felt an inexplicable pressure weighing heavily upon him. At his current level, he couldn’t even defeat a Dou Cultivator, let alone a Soul Master who had stepped into the Profound Stage, much less a Dragon Warrior who surpassed the Soul Masters. He feared that a single strike from such a being could end his life!

Thinking of this, bitterness welled up in Su Yi’s heart. Without strength, nothing could be accomplished. Even if he wanted to help Meiya, he simply lacked the capability. His fists clenched tightly in the shadows, the pain of his fingertips digging into his skin offering a slight release for the frustration and resentment building within him. At the same time, an unprecedented desire to grow stronger surged forth...

Exhaling deeply, Su Yi spoke with a trace of bitterness and helplessness, “I know I can’t help much... But Miss Meiya not only saved my life but has cared for me for so long. At a time like this, I can’t just stand by and do nothing. Whether I can or cannot do it is one thing; whether I choose to do it is another...”

Having said this, Su Yi stepped forward. Captain Yuan, seeing this, didn’t know what to say to dissuade him and let him go. A soldier blocking the crowd saw Su Yi charging ahead. He twirled his spear sharply, the sharp tip suddenly thrust toward Su Yi, and with a stern shout, he commanded, “Unauthorized personnel, no entry!”

Hearing this, Su Yi’s mood soured. After all, this was the auction house belonging to the Youximan family, yet a group of outsiders was here bossing everyone around as if they were the owners. No matter how displeased Su Yi was, he had to endure it—for the Jiang family was the foremost of the empire’s three great families.

Inwardly, Su Yi even entertained a thought: if one day he became strong, he would definitely cause a commotion for the Jiang family.

Shaking off these distractions, Su Yi looked up at the soldier and said, “I am not an unauthorized person. I have business with Miss Meiya.”

“Business?” The soldier frowned. “Our captain is currently discussing matters with Miss Meiya and has no time to see you. Leave now!”

Discussing matters? Su Yi found it strange. Why would the Jiang family travel all the way from the imperial capital to talk with the Youximan family? But it seemed nothing serious had happened, which was a relief. After a moment’s thought, he said, “I think their discussion will be over soon. I’ll just go in briefly and come out. That should be fine, right?”

“Leave when I tell you to! What are you dawdling for?!” The soldier snapped impatiently, “Miss Meiya is going to be taken away from this auction house soon anyway. What are you looking for?”

“What?! Taken away?!” Su Yi’s heart jolted. He stomped his left foot hard, using the rebound to leap swiftly to the right. The soldier shouted in anger and moved to block him, but Su Yi suddenly halted, then forcefully kicked off again with his right foot, changing direction to the left, swiftly bypassing the soldier’s defense.

The soldier’s strength was only about that of a level six or seven Dou Cultivator, inherently weaker than Su Yi. Coupled with Su Yi’s sudden burst of speed and deceptive feints, he was unable to stop him. Realizing he’d been tricked, the soldier angrily tried to pursue but it was too late. He yelled, “Someone is forcing their way in!”

The shout instantly attracted everyone’s attention. They saw Su Yi forcing his way inside. Other soldiers reacted quickly, rushing to surround him. Though they were fast, Su Yi was faster. His feet continuously kicked the ground with force, causing cracks to spiderweb across the floor as his body shot forward like an arrow.

At that moment, disaster struck! A fierce roar suddenly echoed—

“Who dares to intrude and seek death!”

Before the words finished, a terrifying surge of combat energy thundered forward! Its speed was so rapid that evasion was impossible; it struck Su Yi in the next instant.

The overwhelming force of the attack sent chills down Su Yi’s spine, a powerful sense of danger crashing into his heart!

The power behind this strike was the greatest he had witnessed in recent years. Compared to attacks from Zhong Yuan or Qin San, this was far more formidable. If a Dou Cultivator had been hit by such an attack, they would be severely wounded if not outright killed!

Feeling his life threatened, Su Yi’s face instantly turned ashen. He hadn’t expected the attacker to strike without even a word—indeed, the strong need not reason with others!

Su Yi’s body was rushing forward rapidly, with no time to dodge. Like a man committing suicide, he gritted his teeth and crossed his arms tightly over his chest, hoping to shield his vital organs.

Suddenly, Su Yi wasn’t sure if it was real, but he seemed to hear a soft, delicate moan. Then, some energy subtly flowed into his body. Yet before he could ponder this, the fierce combat energy exploded violently on him!

The blast whipped up a dense, powerful gust, spreading outward like a spider’s web. The shockwave cracked the ground beneath, and the intense wind sent nearby soldiers flying, their armor clanging sharply as they crashed against the walls. Even those at some distance in the auction house had their clothes flapping wildly in the gust. Weaker fighters stumbled back several steps and fell to the ground.

Struck head-on, Su Yi spat out a mouthful of fresh blood with a cry. His body flew backward like a broken puppet, slamming heavily onto the ground with a loud crack that shattered the floor. Despite the impact, his backward momentum didn’t stop immediately; he slid several meters before finally coming to rest.

For a moment, the auction hall fell silent. Few present had witnessed such a devastating attack. The sheer destructive power was terrifying, and the outward radiating combat energy was astonishing. This was surely beyond the capability of an ordinary Soul Master. Moreover, the attacker had only released external combat energy—perhaps they hadn’t even exerted much force!

After recovering from their shock, many eyes turned toward Su Yi lying on the ground. To withstand such a powerful blow and not die was nearly impossible. Many faces changed color. Diyuan watched Su Yi remain motionless, a strange satisfaction welling in his heart—he hoped Su Yi would just die!

Captain Yuan stepped forward to Su Yi’s side, reaching out to check him over. After a moment, a look of surprise crossed his face.

While everyone’s thoughts swirled, a figure slowly emerged. Clad in armor that seemed to emanate a chilling aura, the man exuded a cold and fearsome presence. His face was grim and terrifying, the corners of his mouth curling into a bloodthirsty grin.

His gaze swept across the crowd, causing many to shiver and instinctively retreat several steps. The soldiers who had been knocked down struggled to rise, half-kneeling on the ground as they quickly spoke, “We failed to perform our duties properly, Captain. Please punish us!”

Hearing this, it became clear this man was Lou Jun. Judging from the soldiers’ weak voices, he was badly injured. Lou Jun sneered coldly, “No need. This person is already dead by my hand. Consider that last strike as punishment for your failure.”

“Yes, Captain!” the soldiers responded in unison.

Suddenly, as if disturbed by the soldiers’ loud voices, Su Yi coughed a few times from the ground and slowly got up. Pain exploded throughout his body, as if his internal organs had shifted out of place.

His bones felt as if broken, sending sharp pain that almost made him collapse. His chest felt as if struck by a heavy hammer—painful and suffocating, making breathing difficult.

Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, Su Yi steadied himself and glared upward with a gloomy expression. Then he saw Lou Jun’s face, which instantly froze and became somewhat stunned. Lou Jun looked at him with disbelief.

How could this be?!

Though Lou Jun’s attack had been a casual strike, not a formal soul technique, his strength as an eighth-rank Dragon Warrior meant that even a single hit on a level eighteen Dou Cultivator would have left them severely wounded.

A young man like this surviving that blow and still standing defied all logic.

Could it be that he was already a Dou Cultivator or even a Soul Master at such a young age?

Lou Jun’s gaze shifted as he scanned Su Yi but detected no trace of combat energy. Clearly, Su Yi was an ordinary human. Realizing this, Lou Jun’s expression grew colder. He had missed his chance, but more than that, he had publicly claimed to have killed Su Yi. Now, this was a slap to his face, a loss of face he could not bear!

His eyes flashed with icy fury as he grinned bloodthirstily, licking the corner of his mouth, and took slow steps toward Su Yi...
