Chapter 48: The Melancholy Maiden in Azure
“How is the Blood Soul Wood being auctioned?” Wang Luo did not answer the middle-aged man's question, but instead inquired about the Blood Soul Wood.
“The owner of the Blood Soul Wood demands payment in gold coins. For rare treasures like the Blood Soul Wood and ninth-grade magic crystals, it's uncommon for anyone to offer them at auction; even when they do, it's usually a barter. The greatest value of the Blood Soul Wood lies in the Soul Spring behind it, but the Soul Spring is incredibly difficult to find, which has diminished the value of the Blood Soul Wood somewhat. Nevertheless, its price remains astronomical. This time, many factions are determined to obtain it, and a single ninth-grade magic crystal may not be enough to secure it!”
Knowing Wang Luo’s target was the Blood Soul Wood, the middle-aged man spoke thoughtfully, sharing most of the information he could. After Wang Luo produced a ninth-grade magic crystal, his status in the middle-aged man’s eyes soared to the highest level.
“Hmm!” Wang Luo nodded slowly, then spoke startlingly to the middle-aged man, “How many ninth-grade magic crystals would be enough?”
“How many?” The words echoed in the middle-aged man’s mind as he stared at Wang Luo in shock, unable to suppress the thought: could this person be a Saint Realm expert?
“Two ninth-grade magic crystals would definitely secure the Blood Soul Wood!” Remembering rumors of a Saint Realm expert from not long ago, the middle-aged man, who had previously been skeptical, now couldn’t help but associate them with the black-robed figure before him. His tone grew increasingly respectful.
“Add one peak eighth-grade magic crystal as well,” Wang Luo said carelessly, tossing out two more magic crystals. The middle-aged man stared dumbfounded at the magic crystals on the table, unable to believe what he was seeing. He stood frozen for a long moment before finally coming to his senses and clapped his hands three times; the door opened, and seven young maidens entered in single file.
The seven maidens stood quietly not far from Wang Luo, each clad only in a translucent azure robe, their pale skin barely concealed, their chests adorned with two cherries glowing faintly red, while below, a few eager blades of grass seemed to pierce through the azure fabric, yearning for the touch of rain.
With the arrival of the seven maidens, the room was instantly filled with the unique fragrance of virgins. Like seven unopened blossoms, they awaited someone to awaken them, tempting one to rush forward and unveil the mysterious, hazy azure robes.
“Which one do you fancy, sir? They can escort you to Room Twenty-Three,” the middle-aged man said with a smile, unconsciously changing his address to “sir.”
“Can I only bring one?” Wang Luo asked. The middle-aged man was momentarily taken aback, but before he could respond, Wang Luo casually chose one maiden, who bowed slightly and then led Wang Luo toward Room Twenty-Three.
Seeing Wang Luo off respectfully, the middle-aged man looked at the remaining six maidens, swallowed hard, forcibly restrained his desire, and quickly dismissed them. He hurried out himself, carrying the three magic crystals.
The auction hall was divided into four floors: the first contained a hall large enough for ten thousand people; the second had several hundred VIP rooms; the third, a hundred VIP rooms; the fourth was inaccessible to outsiders.
In Room One, the middle-aged man who had just spoken with Wang Luo now stood respectfully before a young man in his twenties, who listened with a frown as the middle-aged man reported their recent conversation.
“Hmm, you handled this well. I’ll report it to my father,” the young man said, nodding after hearing the report.
Hearing this, the middle-aged man’s face lit up, but before he could speak again, the young man waved him away, and he retreated with a respectful bow.
“Second Grandfather, Father and his magic pet have both reached the peak of eighth grade, but they already have prepared ninth-grade magic crystals. They don’t need these two, though some of my uncles might. Should we buy one and take it back?” After the middle-aged man left, the young man addressed an elderly figure nearby, who sat with eyes closed, resting.
“You already have your own plan, so why ask me?” The old man glanced at the young man with affection, then closed his eyes again.
“Heh, Second Grandfather, then let's not buy it. Even if we auction it, there won’t be enough to go around for all the uncles.” The young man laughed.
In Room Twenty-Three, Wang Luo sat on the sofa, leaning back, gazing at the magic mirror on the opposite wall. Inside, a girl around twenty was hosting the auction, her sweet voice occasionally drifting out.
Nearby, the azure-robed maiden blushed prettily, her eyes irresistibly drawn to Wang Luo’s lower body, where a tent was pitched and something stirred restlessly inside.
Suddenly, the girl saw the black-robed man’s body tremble. Her blush deepened, and fluid trickled from her lower body, soaking her robe and revealing the lush grass beneath. At last, she could not suppress a soft, erotic moan.
Hearing the unexpected moan, Wang Luo turned toward her, seeing her face flushed, eyes sultry and full of longing, gazing at him—more precisely, at a certain part of him.
His gaze dropped lower, seeing the dew-laden grass at her lower body. Wang Luo hurriedly waved her away. She cast a plaintive glance at Wang Luo and at the now-still tent, her body weak as she walked out of the room.
As soon as the maiden left, Wang Luo quickly stripped off his black robe, exposing his true appearance, tossed aside the three beasts on his belly, checked his little bird, and covered his lower body, angrily demanding, “Which of you did this?”
The Blood Wolf and Black Panther both looked at the little White Lion, who hung its head in grievance and whimpered, telling Wang Luo what happened: “The three of us were playing, when suddenly a little stick poked me. I squeezed it—it felt pretty hard—and pushed it, but it stayed there. So I gently touched it with my paw, and it vanished. We were just about to keep playing when you called us out.”
“Good thing you were gentle, or I’d have given you a gentle touch myself!” After checking his little bird again and confirming that except for a faint red mark, nothing was wrong, Wang Luo pulled on his shorts, called the three beasts before him, and prepared to give them an enlightening lesson to prevent such incidents from happening again.
Meanwhile, above the auction hall, a man in black stood laughing heartily in midair, muttering to himself, “I was wondering how that little thing could be so precocious—so that's why! Ha ha…”
Just then, four elders in blood-red robes appeared nearby. The man’s laughter froze, and he cursed under his breath, “The Holy Light Church is truly persistent!”
Glancing down at the auction, the man in black abruptly vanished, as did the four blood-robed elders.
