Chapter Seventy-One: True and False Flirtations
“A high level doesn’t always mean true strength. Even though you possess the power of a peak-level six, your combat skills are terrible and your battle experience is seriously lacking!”
“If you come up against weaker opponents, maybe you can win by sheer force, but when you face someone of a similar rank with real combat experience, you’re finished!”
“At your current level, you’d barely be a match for me when I’d just reached the sixth rank. If you run into that old monster, you’d still be as good as dead.”
Chelsea smiled faintly as she watched the young man forced into a corner by the sword light she’d unleashed, his clothes sliced into strips. She pointed out his shortcomings, completely unmoved by the savage glare he shot her way.
Rip—
“Damn it, are you done yet? All this because I punched you once? You were the one spying on my sword practice in the first place!”
Frustration poured out of Wang Luo as he watched his clothes once again torn by the sword light. He tore off the scraps still clinging to his body, stopped resisting, and stood naked amidst the sword light, glaring at the white-clad figure opposite.
“Uh! Put your clothes on first!”
Chelsea was momentarily stunned, immediately dispelling the sword light as she addressed the bare Wang Luo. She didn’t notice the flush that crept silently up her face.
“Why bother? It’s not like you haven’t seen it before.”
Wang Luo shot her a glance, unconcerned, though he felt a little nervous inside. Yet to prove he had no interest in men, he resolved to stand his ground and see if his body would react to Chelsea’s gaze.
“Come on, we’re both men here. Why are you blushing? Haven’t you ever seen a naked man before? Or do you like men?”
Seeing the rosy tinge across Chelsea’s fair features, Wang Luo paused, then continued in his careless tone, even resorting to crude words he rarely used, just to seem more masculine.
“Are you really from the Jinger family?”
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Chelsea regained her composure, looked Wang Luo in the eye, and pretended to ask seriously. Yet inwardly, she was troubled—why did her eyes keep wanting to stray downward?
“No.”
“No?”
“Right.”
“Then what connection do you have to the Jinger family?”
“And why are you so interested in their affairs?”
Wang Luo blinked in confusion at the white-robed figure, suspicion written all over his face as his mind raced, trying to find a way out of this predicament.
“She’s very concerned about the Jinger family, practices water-based battle aura, so probably not from the Jinger family herself. She seemed rather interested when I used the Jinger sword technique—could she be a collateral relative? Or perhaps a family friend...”
The air grew heavy for a moment as Wang Luo studied Chelsea, and she in turn sized him up, her gaze never lingering below his waist—whether from avoidance or genuine focus on the problem at hand, it was hard to say.
“My name is Chelsea Shui.”
“Shui? Shui... Shui family!”
Repeating her surname twice, Wang Luo suddenly realized—Shui was the direct family name of the Shui clan, one of the Four Great Families of the Celestial Continent. More importantly, if he remembered correctly, the Jinger family head’s wife was the daughter of the previous Shui family head, and he himself was the Jinger family head’s son...
“Oh, so the impressive person who appeared out of nowhere is from the Shui family, one of the Four Great Families of the Celestial Continent!”
“And what of it? Even across the entire Celestial Continent, you won’t find another ten-year-old with peak sixth-level strength!”
As Chelsea spoke, she continued watching Wang Luo’s reaction. Though she’d caught the subtle change in his expression when she revealed her name, she still couldn’t be sure what had caused it.
“So, what is it you really want? Don’t tell me you’ve taken a fancy to your big brother here? If you have, just admit it. Give me a couple of years and I guarantee you’ll be satisfied! Heh heh...”
With a roguish grin, Wang Luo watched Chelsea’s face darken completely, finally relieved to have shifted her attention away from the Jinger family.
“Is that so?”
Chelsea’s smile returned, a faint curve at her lips as she looked at the boy opposite, whose lecherous grin was anything but subtle as his eyes wandered over her.
“Not good!”
Suddenly Wang Luo saw Chelsea move. He realized too late; he was already pulled into a warm, soft embrace by slender hands.
“What’s this, in such a hurry for pleasure?”
Wang Luo’s small hand climbed Chelsea’s chest, gliding upwards, fingers dancing along the smooth skin at her neck. Rising on tiptoe, he pinched Chelsea’s chin and blew softly, teasing her.
“Do you know what gives a man the greatest pleasure?”
Chelsea smiled faintly as she spoke, her hand sliding down to squeeze his firm little backside, kneading it with relish, laughter in her eyes.
“Oh, you don’t know? Would you like me to teach you?”
His hands encircled Chelsea’s neck as Wang Luo tried to wriggle free from her grasp, still bantering flirtatiously, curious how long Chelsea could keep up the act.
“You teach me? Ha! Better if I teach you—I’ve got experience...”
Seeing the boy in her arms hesitate, Chelsea’s amusement deepened. Did he expect her to surrender first? That would never happen...
Neither, caught up in their secret contest and relentless teasing, seemed to realize just how bold and wanton their behavior had become. There are limits to jokes—but were they really joking? Perhaps even they didn’t know...
Click—
In the stillness of the deep night, a faint door creaked open, harsh and unexpected. Instantly, the two figures sprang apart; a white shadow flickered and vanished as if it had never existed.
“Damn it, what’s wrong with me...”
Wang Luo patted his face and shook his head, muttering inwardly as he tossed the bone sword, still warm from Chelsea’s touch, into his spatial ring. He pulled on a fresh set of clothes, gathered the shredded remnants from the ground, hesitated, then sent them into a green point of light.
“Hey, Cairo, what are you doing up?”
Seeing Cairo emerge, Wang Luo greeted him cheerfully, feeling a twinge of guilt. Only now did he realize what he’d just been doing. Though he was sure Cairo had seen nothing, he still felt uneasy.
“Nothing, just taking a walk. Why aren’t you training?”
Cairo, surprised to find Wang Luo outside, paused before walking over. Noticing Wang Luo’s slight frown, then the brief smile and the way his gaze flickered to a certain part of his body, Cairo’s face instantly flushed red...
