Chen San saw that Meng Wuyan was about to kill Chang Yu, and, risking everything, he rushed over and delivered a flying kick aimed at Meng Wuyan’s head. But Meng Wuyan was no ordinary woman; with a swift move, she dodged the attack.

Her quick evasion caused Chen San serious trouble. Already airborne, he had no chance to recover and crashed heavily onto Chang Yu’s bed.

The impact alone was bad enough, but tragically, Chen San’s most vulnerable spot struck the edge of the bed. In that moment, he felt that marrying a wife no longer mattered.

Chang Yu, already struggling to breathe, was knocked unconscious when Chen San’s unretracted foot landed heavily on her chest.

Chen San immediately withdrew his leg, ignoring Chang Yu, clutching his groin with cold sweat pouring down his face. His small, shuffling steps back and forth spoke volumes: the pain was excruciating—his “family jewels” were thoroughly shattered.

Before Chen San could catch his breath, Meng Wuyan jabbed him sharply in the head with her elbow. With a loud “thud,” he dropped to his knees. Perhaps the pain in his groin far outweighed the blow, or maybe Meng Wuyan’s internal injury hadn’t fully healed, but this elbow did not knock Chen San unconscious.

Panicking, Chen San grabbed Meng Wuyan’s waist and charged straight forward. The force sent her feet off the ground as she slammed hard against the wall.

The impact was considerable; Meng Wuyan’s back struck the wall firmly before she fell. Like a slippery eel, Chen San twisted her around and pinned one of her hands down.

“Sister Wan’er, quickly, extinguish her yang fire and possess her! I’m losing my grip on her,” Chen San urged.

Before Chen San finished, a chill surged straight into Meng Wuyan’s crown. It was the first time Chen Wan’er had possessed Meng Wuyan, and it took quite a while. Chen San gritted his teeth through the pain, and after nearly the time it takes to urinate twice, Chen Wan’er finally took control of Meng Wuyan’s body.

“Let her go. There’s a rope over there; go fetch it and tie her to the grandmaster’s chair,” Chen Wan’er instructed.

Hearing Chen Wan’er’s voice, Chen San slowly rose, enduring the pain. Chang Yu and Chen Xin had bought many things before, all with boxes and ropes, discarded in a corner. Now, they were finally useful.

Meng Wuyan got up, moved the grandmaster’s chair to the center of the room, and sat down, waiting for Chen San to bring the rope to bind her.

Chen San limped over in a strange posture, face pale as death.

Chen Wan’er asked, “How are you feeling?”

Chen San noticed the towel beside Chang Yu’s pillow, applied by Yang Chengzi.

“Sister Wan’er, it hurts a bit. Maybe you can use spiritual energy to freeze it; it might feel better.”

“I have plenty of spiritual energy, but if you get frostbite, I won’t be responsible.”

Hearing the risk, Chen San immediately waved his hand. “Forget it, I’ll endure. It’s not that bad.”

Reaching Meng Wuyan, Chen San took a large bundle of short ropes and began tying her up. It took almost half an incense stick’s time before she was securely bound.

Like a rice dumpling, tightly wrapped, even her knees were restrained, leaving her utterly powerless.

Chen San covered his face with one hand and his groin with the other, twisting his hips as if easing the pain.

At that moment, Chen Xin returned with Chang Yu’s medicine. Seeing Chen San clutching his groin and Meng Wuyan tied up like that, knowing Chen San’s usual lecherous nature, she immediately guessed the rest.

Chen Xin understood instantly: Chen San had taken advantage of the moment when she and Yang Chengzi left to make improper advances on Meng Wuyan. When she resisted, she kicked him in the groin. Fearing she would escape, Chen San tried to forcibly tie her up so she couldn’t resist. Had she returned a moment later, who knew what he would have done—a pervert!

Faced with these thoughts, Chen Xin couldn’t hold back and burst into tears, dropping the medicine and running away.

Chen San heard the crying and turned his head, only seeing the medicine on the floor.

“It’s Chen Xin. She saw you, cried, and ran off. Go check on her; I’m here.”

Chen San was puzzled why Chen Xin was crying. Twisting and limping, he hurried after her. She was crouched ahead, sobbing, and he caught up within a few steps.

“Is it really necessary? Why are you crying?” Chen San, too pained to speak much, reached out to comfort Chen Xin. Hearing his words only made her sob louder.

Chen Xin thought Chen San meant he had eyes for other women and that she shouldn’t be so petty. But Chen San meant to say, “Go get some medicine; is it really worth crying like this?”

They were completely out of sync. Just as Chen San touched Chen Xin, she pushed him away and continued running downstairs.

“Go away. I don’t want to see you anymore.”

“Ahhh!”

With a thud, a cry followed: “Oh my God!”

Chen Xin heard Chen San’s scream. Turning around, she saw no sign of him and panicked. Looking down the stairs, she found him sprawled in the restaurant courtyard, groaning pitifully and looking terrible. Had she just pushed him down?

Without hesitation, Chen Xin hurried down, wanting to help Chen San up but unsure how—he looked hurt all over.

“Why did you fall? Are you hurt? Don’t scare me,” she said, tears streaming again.

Though Chen Xin said she didn’t want to see Chen San, she was the first to worry when something happened to him.

Chen San groaned without answering, too pained to speak. He felt as if his backside was shattered.

“Say something. Where exactly do you hurt?”

As Chen Xin tried to help him up, the shopkeeper rushed over. Seeing a man lying on the ground, he was alarmed and quickly sent a waiter to check.

Before the waiter arrived, Yang Chengzi came running. Seeing Chen Xin crying and Chen San sprawled on the ground, a bad feeling settled in his heart.

“What happened to Chen San? Why is he lying there? What’s going on?”

“He...he fell from upstairs. We don’t know how badly he’s hurt. What should we do?”

Although Yang Chengzi understood Chen Xin’s words, she continued crying loudly.

“He fell? How could that happen? Chang Yu!” Yang Chengzi gasped, fearing something had happened to her. He dashed inside and glanced at Chang Yu, still lying on the bed. Feeling her pulse steady but noting her feverish body, he finally exhaled in relief.

Turning back, he noticed Meng Wuyan, bound tightly like a dumpling.

“You only see her? Are others invisible to you?” came Chen Wan’er’s voice.

“Wan’er? How did you possess her? Did Chen San tie her up?”

“Yes. She was trying to strangle Chang Yu, and Chen San saw it. They started fighting.”

“What? She tried to strangle Chang Yu?”

“I don’t know her thoughts, but she can’t stay here. Earlier, she sent Chen San away, clearly planning this in advance, just waiting for a moment when none of you were around.”

Yang Chengzi frowned, asking, “Then what about Chen San? How did he fall?”

“He fell?”

“Yes, from upstairs. Now he’s barely speaking.”

“Not sure. Chen Xin saw Chen San tie her up, then dropped the medicine and ran. Chen San chased after her. You’ll have to ask them later.”

Yang Chengzi was baffled by the tangled story but went back upstairs to carry Chen San up.

Chen San lay on the bed, sweating heavily, looking unwell. Yang Chengzi asked where he hurt, but Chen San stammered, pointing vaguely at the pain.

Yang Chengzi looked incredulous at Chen Xin, “Did you kick him there?”

Chen Xin shook her head repeatedly. “No, I didn’t. He was already hurting when I came back. There was no one else inside; it must have been her.”

“Her?” Yang Chengzi glanced at Meng Wuyan.

Chen Wan’er explained, “Not her. Chen San saw her strangling Chang Yu and tried to kick her away. She dodged, and he hit the bed edge himself.”

“She tried to strangle Sister Chang Yu?” Chen Xin stared at Yang Chengzi, shocked. He nodded grimly.

“Wan’er said she sent Chen San away and tried to strangle Chang Yu. Chen San came back and caught her.”

“Ah!”

Chen Xin covered her mouth and ran to Chang Yu’s side, feeling her hot forehead. Chang Yu moved her head slightly, easing her fears.

Suddenly realizing she had wrongly accused Chen San and caused him to fall, unsure how badly he was hurt, Chen Xin returned to Chen San’s side, clutching his hand.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have doubted you. I... I saw you like that and thought you were going to do something to her, so I...”

Chen San finally understood the situation, his heavy heart eased. Yet the unbearable pain in his groin made him unwilling to speak. He just held Chen Xin’s hand and groaned softly.
