Chapter Sixteen: Rob Lucci
Special Awakening Quest Issued!
The quest seemed simple enough at first glance: Chu Yi only had to follow the system map to the designated area and kill the target marked with a red dot to complete it. But as he looked at the direction of the red dot on the map, then compared it to his current location, Chu Yi suddenly felt caught in a dilemma.
The target was located in the hundredfold gravity zone of Sea Bream Island!
That place had humbled even Tiger, and for Chu Yi at his current level, it was a forbidden area!
Was it truly wise to venture into the hundredfold gravity zone for the sake of a single quest?
Tiger had said that not only was the gravity in that area a hundred times greater than outside—ordinary people entering it would be instantly crushed to pulp—but the beasts surviving there were far more savage than the rulers of the sea, the Sea Kings. Tiger himself had suffered setbacks several times when testing the area.
So, thinking about stepping into the hundredfold gravity zone and how his life would no longer be in his own hands, Chu Yi hesitated and was tempted to give up the quest altogether.
But after gazing deeply at Tiger, Chu Yi couldn’t help but chuckle at his own timidity.
“If I’m already thinking of abandoning such a trivial quest, how can I ever stand with Tiger against the Celestial Dragons?”
“The Celestial Dragons are the world’s nobility, one of the most terrifying forces in the pirate world. Since I’ve already set myself against them, what else do I have to fear?”
“The hundredfold gravity zone? Let’s see what awaits me!”
With that thought, Chu Yi stopped and called out to Tiger ahead, “Hey, Tiger, I have something I need to do. You take Hancock back to the ship first! I’ll be back soon!”
“Hm?” Hearing Chu Yi’s words, Tiger immediately turned around, only to see Chu Yi’s retreating figure.
Though Tiger saw clearly that Chu Yi was headed toward the hundredfold gravity zone of Sea Bream Island, recalling Chu Yi’s surname and sensing the many secrets Chu Yi seemed to carry, Tiger simply gazed deeply at Chu Yi’s back and did not follow.
After bidding Tiger farewell and noting that he still had five hours left to complete the quest, Chu Yi entered the twentyfold gravity zone in his normal form. The oppressive gravity made every step nearly impossible, and in his heart, Chu Yi made a decision.
“It’s only the twentyfold gravity zone, yet I can hardly move in my normal form. If I reach the hundredfold gravity zone, even if I use my Devil Fruit ability to transform into Asura, my power won’t match the target.”
“In that case…”
Chu Yi took out his only platinum material from the system warehouse, drew a deep breath, and communicated with the system:
“System, initiate second awakening!”
“Host, your awakening material is platinum: Visualization Fruit material. Are you sure you want to awaken?”
“Yes!”
Without hesitation, Chu Yi replied, and as soon as his words fell, the awakening began!
This awakening was different from before.
The first time he awakened, Chu Yi was in unbearable agony, so he had braced himself for the pain of the second awakening. Yet, as the process started, Chu Yi realized he had worried for nothing. Even after the second awakening was complete, he felt no pain, no discomfort whatsoever.
The second awakening was so uneventful it was almost unnerving! Aside from sensing that the external gravity seemed to ease a little, Chu Yi noticed no immediate benefits from the quest.
But just as Chu Yi wondered if the awakening had failed…
Suddenly!
A dark red glow enveloped him, and the Asura form appeared!
Unconsciously transformed into Asura, Chu Yi felt as if his body had left the twentyfold gravity zone and was being pulled into a black hole by some mysterious force.
In the pitch-black world, there was no time, no mass—only darkness woven into existence.
But soon, a streak of crimson light appeared, and following that gleam, Chu Yi was startled to see an apparition of a six-armed Asura!
Meanwhile…
Outside, standing in the twentyfold gravity zone, Chu Yi quietly closed his eyes, standing motionless.
As the six-armed Asura in the dark world grew more tangible, the purple mark at Chu Yi’s brow suddenly opened like an eye!
Next, purple light gathered, forming a vertical purple pupil at the center of his forehead.
……
Sea Bream Island, hundredfold gravity zone.
Under the leadership of “Pigeon,” the group of Marines Chu Yi had encountered earlier had ventured deep into the hundredfold gravity zone. Even for these new-generation elite Marines, moving freely in such extreme gravity was impossible.
However, since this squad had come prepared for their mission, they had brought countermeasures.
As soon as they entered the hundredfold gravity zone and felt the overwhelming pressure, Marine Muir gave Johnny a meaningful glance and said, “Johnny, it’s up to you.”
“Leave it to me.”
Johnny smiled knowingly, clenched his fists, and activated his Devil Fruit ability. In an instant, he eased the pressure of the hundredfold gravity zone on the surrounding Marines.
“Johnny, your Devil Fruit ability is amazing!”
“Yeah, the Superhuman Weight Fruit—we used to think it was useless, but you’ve made it invaluable.”
“There are no worthless Devil Fruit powers, only worthless users. That saying is spot on. Johnny can change our body weight with his ability, so the abnormal gravity of this island is no longer a problem for us!”
As the surrounding Marines praised him, Johnny felt quite pleased with himself.
Only “Pigeon” cast a disdainful glance at Johnny and said, “Hammock is taking too long. Let’s find the target and bring him back now.”
“Wait, Pigeon, aren’t you going to wait for Hammock?”
Just as Pigeon finished speaking, Johnny, who had been quietly enjoying the compliments, protested, “Maintaining the gravity relief on you all has left me defenseless. Without Hammock’s absolute protection, my safety—”
“My word is law. Don’t forget who’s in charge here!”
With a cold glare at Johnny, Pigeon waited until Johnny’s attitude softened before sneering and moving ahead to search for their target.
Johnny, watching Pigeon’s back, was frustrated yet unable to vent his anger.
For although Pigeon used a codename within this Marine squad, every Marine here knew he was not someone to cross.
He…
He was Rob Lucci from CP9!
