“So? What exactly am I supposed to do?” Chen Fan pondered for a moment. Under the full-credit system, everyone’s class schedule was different. Should he try to obtain personal information? But Chen Fan wasn’t a hacker; his usual computer skills barely extended beyond rebooting a frozen machine.

The elder shrugged, “I don’t know. There’s always a way—it just depends on whether you can think of it.”

“That’s just saying nothing,” Chen Fan rolled his eyes and resumed contemplating a solution. “Then I guess I’ll wait until the next attendance check. I’m not in a hurry anyway.”

In truth, there were more problems than one to solve. After confirming whether Wang You was truly possessed by the Knight card, Chen Fan still had to figure out a perfect way to retrieve the card. As for bodily destruction—forget about slaughtering chickens; even hearing a few chicken screams made Chen Fan uncomfortable.

“Elder, if one day I die heroically, remember to help bury me.”

The elder sighed helplessly, “I don’t have a physical form. I can only bury you spiritually.”

Chen Fan trudged along, lamenting the hardships of life. “Can this idiotic card be of any use? If it actually worked, it’d let me run into Wang You on the way back to the dorm.”

“It’s probably the New Moon event in effect now. Your card’s functions are unstable. One moment you’re the Chosen One; the next, you’re just a blank slate.”

“That’s just my wishful thinking. Unless…” Chen Fan reached the end of the corridor, one foot stepping down a stair while the other hovered mid-air. He turned his head ninety degrees, drawn by a classroom tucked in the corner. On the blackboard, in bold letters, was written: “Audit Department Social Gathering.”

“Looks like my luck isn’t that bad. Thank heavens. But why doesn’t our Financial Management have any socials?” Chen Fan felt both joy and a tinge of disappointment.

He grabbed a quick dinner, stared at the electronic clock on the wall, contemplated life on a worn bench with a seesaw-like curve, then hurried back to the academic building.

“Being a paparazzo isn’t easy,” Chen Fan squatted by the escalator closest to the classroom, silently observing everything inside.

As night reclaimed the land, the classroom gradually filled. Those blurry dark dots moving about made Chen Fan wish he had telescope-like vision.

“Where the hell is Wang You? Over a hundred people and I can’t spot him.” Chen Fan peered through several windows but found no trace.

“Why don’t you just go inside and take a look? Why stay outside? Smart for all of three seconds, huh?” The elder coughed and chuckled.

“I’m not in Audit. How can I get in?” Chen Fan retorted.

The elder tutted twice and advised, “No one’s checking attendance now. Classes aren’t held together as a whole anymore. Do you even know everyone in your own class? You say you’re in Audit, but who knows which class you belong to? Just find the best observation spot, sit tight, and watch the show.”

“If you were this reliable every time, there wouldn’t be so many unexpected troubles,” Chen Fan muttered, standing up and nervously entering the classroom, pretending to be an Audit student.

“Classmate, which class are you from? Internal one? Internal two? External one? External two?” The greeter at the door eagerly asked.

“Internal one? External one?” Chen Fan frowned. Could this be some internal code? But as a fake, he didn’t know any of these secret terms.

“Not familiar with the terms? Then are you Audit one, Audit two, or Accounting one, Accounting two?” The greeter tried a different approach.

“Divine doctor? Pig’s ear?” Chen Fan sank deeper into confusion. What kind of code was this?

“Ahem, I’m a divine doctor.” Chen Fan raised a hand to cover half his face and coughed lightly, trying to mask his nervousness.

“Oh, you’re also a divine doctor? Why haven’t I seen you before? There’s a really tall guy in our class; I’d remember him.”

“Um… I have a bit of a hunchback. During military training, my asthma flared up, so I didn’t attend much. I wasn’t even there during introductions,” Chen Fan hastily fabricated some lies. The girl before him was about 1.55 meters tall. Standing upright, Chen Fan could look down on her, probably out of her line of sight.

“Oh, no wonder. Go ahead then. Audit one’s seats are in the top left corner. Look for anyone familiar and sit with them.”

“If only I had acquaintances here. I’m not even in Audit.”

Chen Fan breathed a sigh of relief and headed toward the Audit one section. He discovered that Wang You was indeed in that class. Surveying the empty seats, Chen Fan chose a spot diagonally opposite, high up, where he could see Wang You’s profile without being noticed.

“If only I could use the Werewolf card now. Still feels a bit far,” Chen Fan tilted his head, pretending to admire the view outside. Every subtle expression on Wang You’s face was captured. This time, Chen Fan was determined to get to the bottom of things.

“Hey, can I switch seats with you? The four of us in the dorm want to sit together.”

A strong female voice came from behind. Chen Fan turned subtly. The girl was at least three weight classes bigger than him. The three standing behind her looked comparatively petite.

Chen Fan scanned the area she pointed to. Surrounded by large bodies blocking the view, it was impossible to see Wang You’s movements. Checking his own row, if he gave up one seat, it would create a block of four seats together.

Chen Fan shamelessly smiled, “No switching. Or else, you want these three little sisters to sit with me? I wouldn’t mind.”

“We do,” the three girls chorused, adding with a smile, “It’s just you alone. Can’t you do us this favor?”

Not knowing what he was thinking, Chen Fan replied, “But with her figure, can she even squeeze in? I…”

Seeing the strained looks on their faces, Chen Fan turned the rest of his words into a smile, standing up with mock reluctance. “Alright, alright, you guys go ahead. I’ll find another spot.”

Curious, Chen Fan watched the tall girl try to sit. Instead of squeezing in, she simply perched on the armrest, sitting as if it were a bench.

Having finally found a makeshift observation point, Chen Fan barely sat down before a big guy plopped down in front, completely blocking his view. Chen Fan felt utterly defeated.

“Hey, did you also eye that girl up front?” The person beside him nudged Chen Fan, then discreetly pointed with curled fingers. “See that girl with waist-length hair in the floral dress? Your type?”

Chen Fan stared at the other’s starry-eyed gaze, shaking his head repeatedly, then hesitated before nodding slightly.

He couldn’t very well admit he was just watching a guy.

“From the back, she looks good. Hope she’s not a backstabbing type,” Chen Fan murmured in agreement.

“Super pretty, with long straight black hair. Too bad she probably wouldn’t look twice at a loser like me,” the other sighed, eyes never lingering on Chen Fan but fixed on the goddess ahead.

“Yeah, keep trying. You won’t know if you don’t try,” Chen Fan encouraged, glancing again toward Wang You’s seat.

“Huh? Where did he go?”
